Overview

The FARO grey wall light is designed to be installed on the exterior wall of a home. It works well in the garden, terrace, main entrance, or any outdoor area where focused and discreet lighting is needed. The round base is compact — it takes up little space on the wall and does not draw excessive attention during the day.

The lamp includes an integrated COB LED light source, which means there is no need to search for or purchase a bulb separately. With 3W of consumption, it provides warm lighting at 3000K: that soft orange tone that makes the garden or terrace look cosy as night falls. The opal diffuser distributes the light evenly, without bright spots or harsh shadows.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in lighting. Their outdoor products combine functionality and design without excess. This wall light is a good example: simple, durable, and designed for real use.

Installation and specifications

Before mounting the wall light, check that the surface is solid and that there is an electrical junction box at the chosen point. Fixing is directly onto the wall, without additional supports. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician, as it involves connection to the 220V-240V mains. Make sure to cut the power before any work with the wiring.

To clean the body of the wall light, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish or the PMMA diffuser. Do not direct jets of water directly onto the lamp. Periodically check that the body is securely fixed to the wall and that there are no signs of wear at the anchor points.

Design and use

The FARO wall light has a cylindrical shape with a round base. The body is made of PC, a resistant technical plastic that tolerates temperature changes and sun exposure well. The diffuser is made of opal PMMA, a material that filters the light and distributes it softly towards the front and sides. As a result, the light does not dazzle even when one is close to the lamp.

The dark grey finish gives it a neutral appearance that fits without issue on stone, concrete, exposed brick, or modern cladding facades. It is not a colour that stands out, and that is often exactly what is sought: for the lamp to fulfil its function without becoming the centre of visual attention during the day.

At 120 mm high and 120 mm long, it is a compact luminaire. The depth of 70 mm means it protrudes moderately from the wall, enough for the diffuser to project the light well forwards. Its reduced weight — less than 250 grams including packaging — makes it easy to transport and handle during installation.

The integrated COB LED light source operates at 3000K, a warm colour temperature. This type of light is pleasant in outdoor night settings: it illuminates what is necessary without creating a cold or harsh atmosphere. A well-planned garden can take advantage of this tone to highlight plants, paths, or walkways without the need to install a powerful spotlight.

For a small or medium-sized terrace, a single wall light may be sufficient to provide presence and orientation in the dark. In larger spaces, several units can be combined and distributed along the exterior wall, maintaining visual coherence thanks to the same finish and size. It also works well alongside a floor lamp or ground luminaire, creating different levels of lighting in the patio.

Although the lamp does not include a motion sensor or presence detector, it is compatible with home automation systems or external timers connected to the electrical circuit. This makes it possible to programme automatic switching without needing to replace the wall light. If the intended use involves frequent switching via a sensor, one can be installed in the electrical panel without modifying the luminaire itself.

Installation on an exterior wall is the most common for this type of wall light. However, it can also be placed in covered areas such as porches or garages, where direct sun exposure is lower. In those spaces, the warm LED light creates a more comfortable atmosphere than the cold lighting of a fluorescent tube.

Questions and answers

Does the wall light include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the integrated COB LED light source. No additional bulb needs to be purchased. The light is ready to function from the moment of installation.

Is it possible to connect this wall light to an external motion sensor?

The luminaire itself does not incorporate a sensor or motion detector. However, it can be connected to an external sensor installed in the electrical circuit, which allows automatic switching without modifying the lamp.

Does the PMMA diffuser yellow over time due to sun exposure?

PMMA is a more stable material than other plastics when exposed to the sun, but like any material, it may experience minimal changes over the years. Basic maintenance — periodic cleaning with a damp cloth — helps to preserve its appearance for longer.
