Overview

This outdoor recessed wall light from FARO is designed to be installed directly into the wall, flush with the surface. It projects a warm, downward-directed beam of light, ideal for marking accesses, pathways, or architectural elements on facades. It works well at entrances, next to doors, in gardens, or on any exterior wall where discreet, well-integrated lighting is desired.

The body is made of 316L stainless steel with a satin finish. This is a material that withstands prolonged exposure to outdoor conditions very well. The diffuser is made of glass, which gives a clean, neat appearance. The 3W LED spotlight at 3000K offers warm light, without harshness, that accompanies without intruding.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine technical and design criteria, designed to integrate into real projects, both in new construction and renovations.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this recessed wall light, an external 24V DC driver is required, which is not included with the product. Installation requires cutting a box into the wall where the luminaire body will be housed. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially outdoors where the electrical supply must be properly protected. Check that the chosen driver is compatible with the indicated power and voltage.

The satin stainless steel finish holds up well under typical outdoor conditions. To keep it in good condition, simply clean the surface occasionally with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. Avoid the use of scourers or aggressive chemical products that may scratch the finish. Do not handle the spotlight while it is connected to the power supply.

Design and use

The FARO outdoor recessed wall light is a wall luminaire designed to integrate into the surface without protruding. Its body sits flush with the wall, giving it a discreet and visually well-resolved presence. It is an option that works especially well when you do not want the luminaire to draw attention, but simply to fulfil its function of providing orderly illumination.

The material used is 316L stainless steel, known for its high corrosion resistance. It is the same type of steel used in coastal environments or areas with high humidity, making it a reliable option for outdoor use over many years. The satin finish gives it a sober appearance, without excessive shine, which integrates well both on modern facades and on more neutral surfaces.

The glass diffuser with an opal finish filters the light from the LED spotlight and distributes it evenly. The result is a well-defined beam of light, without intense bright spots, that illuminates the immediate area without causing glare. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm light, in line with what many people prefer for residential exteriors: welcoming, without the coldness of higher colour temperatures.

The 3W COB LED spotlight is included, so you do not need to source it separately. Consumption is very low, which makes sense for a luminaire that may be on for several hours each night. Power is supplied at 24V DC, so a compatible external driver will be required, sold separately.

Its compact dimensions — 45 x 45 mm cross-section and 90 mm depth — mean it can be installed in walls with limited available thickness. The total weight is just 170 grams, which makes handling during installation straightforward.

As for the spaces where it makes most sense to use it: it works very well as a garden wall light to mark a path or the edge of a step. It is also commonly seen on the facade of a home, flanking an entrance door or marking the line of a wall. On terraces or patios, it can be used to create perimeter lighting without protruding elements or visible cables. As a wall light in covered accesses or porches, it provides directed light without taking up space.

The light does not include a motion sensor or any integrated automatic switching system, but it can be connected without issue to an external sensor or timer system according to the needs of each installation. This provides flexibility to decide how and when the light is activated, without limiting the product's possibilities.

If you are looking for an outdoor spotlight that does not visually dominate the space but does its job well, this FARO model is a solid option. The combination of materials, the recessed format, and the warm light mean it works in a wide variety of situations without the need for adjustments or compromises.

Questions and answers

Is the 3W COB LED light source included with the product?

Yes, the 3W 3000K COB LED spotlight is included with the wall light. What is not included is the external 24V DC driver, which must be purchased separately and is necessary for the luminaire to function.

Why is the body made of 316L stainless steel and what advantage does it have over other materials?

316L stainless steel has greater corrosion resistance than other types of steel, even in environments with high humidity or proximity to the sea. For an outdoor recessed wall fitting, this means the body retains its appearance and properties for longer without the need for additional treatments.

Does this wall light support connection to a motion sensor system?

The luminaire does not incorporate a motion sensor as standard, but it can be integrated with an external sensor or timer system installed in the circuit. Compatibility depends on the driver and control system chosen, so it is advisable to consult an electrician before installation.
