Overview

FARO's LED recessed floor light is designed for those who want to shape a garden or terrace without sacrificing functionality. It installs flush with the ground and creates a path of warm light that guides footsteps, defines zones, and gives visual presence to outdoor spaces when night falls. It is a discreet solution during the day and effective when it is needed most.

The recessed floor light solves a specific problem: lighting without taking up space, without visible cables, and without elements that break the line of the paving. The body is made of 316L stainless steel combined with aluminium, materials that hold up well outdoors. The opal glass diffuser distributes light evenly, without bright spots or harsh shadows.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in outdoor and indoor lighting. Its products are found in residential projects and urban spaces where durability is sought without sacrificing finish.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This recessed light requires cutting a hole in the floor or wall depending on the chosen location. The recessed box is included, which simplifies the process. Before installing, make sure the electrical connection is switched off. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician, especially outdoors where moisture can affect connections. The driver is also included, so there is no need to purchase additional components.

Use and maintenance. The satin stainless steel body can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products that may scratch the surface. The opal glass may accumulate dust or dirt over time; simply clean it with water and a soft cloth. Although the light has IP67 rating, periodically check that the seal and the recessed box are in good condition, especially after periods of heavy rain.

Design and use

When designing a garden or terrace, floor lighting is usually one of the last details to be considered, but it carries significant visual weight. A well-placed recessed light changes how the space is perceived at night. FARO's recessed floor light is designed precisely for this: to create lines of light that structure the path without drawing too much attention to themselves.

The body combines 316L stainless steel with aluminium. 316L steel is particularly resistant to corrosion, making it suitable for areas with constant humidity, near the sea, or in climates with frequent rainfall. The satin finish gives it a clean and understated appearance that fits well in both modern settings and gardens with a more natural style. The opal glass diffuser softens the LED light and distributes it evenly, without creating areas of harsh contrast.

The colour temperature of 3000K produces warm light. Outdoors, this range gives the space a welcoming feel and is less harsh on the surroundings than cool white lights. A garden with a path marked by this light invites you to walk through it at night without disorientation.

The IP67 protection rating ensures that the recessed light can withstand direct rain and temporary immersion in water, making it suitable for areas that may become slightly flooded after heavy rainfall. The IK08 impact resistance and the ability to withstand a rolling load of up to 1000 Kg allow it to be installed in access areas where vehicles or garden carts pass, without concern for damage.

Regarding installation, the recessed box and driver are included in the package. This avoids having to search for compatible components separately. The light has a diameter of 100 mm and a height of 75 mm, dimensions that allow it to be integrated into paving without protruding visibly.

This recessed light works especially well when placed in series along a garden path, at the edge of a terrace, or at the entrance to a home. It can also be used to mark the perimeter of a walkway in areas with continuous paving. The light it projects upward or sideways, depending on orientation, creates a sense of depth in the garden that is not so easy to achieve with other luminaires.

Although it has no movement sensor or integrated sensor, its 3W consumption makes it compatible with external control systems if automated switching is desired. It is a light point that works well alongside other outdoor luminaires, either as the main element of a path or as a complement to spotlights or wall and facade lights.

Questions and answers

Can a car drive over the recessed light?

Yes. It is designed to withstand a rolling load of up to 1000 Kg, making it suitable for light vehicle access areas and high-traffic zones in gardens or paved areas.

What does IP67 mean and how does it affect outdoor use?

IP67 indicates that the recessed light is protected against dust and against temporary immersion in water. It can be used without issue in gardens exposed to rain or in areas where water may occasionally accumulate on the ground.

Are the driver and recessed box included or do they need to be purchased separately?

Both are included in the package. No additional components need to be purchased for the basic installation of the light.
