Overview

The round recessed light from FARO is designed to be installed on exterior walls. It is a discreet solution that enhances garden lighting or acts as a marker in passageways, path edges, or entrances. The fixture takes up no visual space; instead, it integrates into the surface and works from there, projecting a V-shaped beam of light that covers the area without creating blind spots.

The fixture runs on a 2W SMD LED light source at 3000K, which is already included. The warm color temperature makes the garden look inviting at night, without the cold tone that can sometimes feel unpleasant in outdoor spaces. The dark grey fixture goes unnoticed during the day and fulfills its function when darkness falls.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine functionality with careful design, built to last under real-use conditions.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation: This fixture is mounted directly on the wall, so before installing it is advisable to check that the surface is solid and allows for recessing. As this is a recessed exterior fixture, it is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified technician. Make sure the wiring is protected and suitable for outdoor use. Always disconnect the power before handling any connections.

Use and maintenance: The aluminium body with a dark grey finish can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. Periodically check that the fixture is securely fastened to the wall and that there is no dirt build-up on the transparent diffuser, as this can affect the quality of the projected light.

Design and use

The recessed fixture from FARO has a very compact profile. With only 50 mm in height and 90 mm in diameter, it takes up very little space on the wall, making it especially useful when looking for a lighting solution that does not interfere with the overall appearance of the façade or garden wall. The clean recessed installation makes the fixture look like part of the wall itself.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that holds up well against outdoor conditions. It does not deform with temperature changes nor does it lose its properties over time. The dark grey finish integrates well with stone or brick walls as well as plastered or painted surfaces. It is a tone that does not draw attention during the day but, at night, complements the projected light without clashing.

The diffuser is made of transparent polycarbonate. This material is resistant to impacts and prolonged sun exposure, which is relevant for any outdoor fixture. The transparency of the diffuser allows the V-shaped beam of light to be clearly visible, marking the illuminated area without blurring the edges too much.

The 2W SMD LED light source at 3000K generates warm illumination. In the garden, this type of light creates a calm atmosphere that is not harsh on the eyes. It is ideal for marking steps, curbs, or pathways without needing to install a high-powered spotlight. It also works well as accent lighting on the patio or next to the entrance of the home.

The fixture does not require an additional lamp, as the light source is included. This simplifies setup and avoids having to find a compatible bulb after purchase. The 220V-240V connection is standard in European homes, with no need for transformers or adapters.

In terms of applications, this fixture is suitable for marking passageways in the garden or patio, for enhancing façade lighting at specific points, or for creating a decorative effect on a stone or brick wall. Combined with other fixtures of the same model or with floor luminaires, it can configure a coherent outdoor lighting scheme without the need to install lanterns or posts.

The motion sensor is not included in this model, so the lamp operates continuously while switched on. If a fixture with an integrated motion sensor is required, another model would need to be considered. For signalling or constant ambient lighting uses, this recessed spotlight performs well without the need for automation.
