Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall is thick enough to accommodate the recessed box and that the wiring reaches the intended point. The fixing is to the wall, so the electrical work must be done before finishing the cladding. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to hire an electrician. The working voltage is universal, between 100V and 240V, compatible with the standard electrical grid.

For cleaning, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish of the body or the opal diffuser. Do not submerge the wall light in water or clean it with a direct jet. Although the luminaire has IP54 protection, it is not designed to be exposed to a pressurized water jet.

Design and use

The STRIPE wall light by FARO has an elongated and discreet shape, with 233 mm in length and 100 mm in height. These proportions make it suitable for spaces where light should be present without drawing attention to itself. Recessed into the wall, it almost disappears during the day and does its job when darkness falls.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that combines lightness and durability. It does not warp with temperature changes, which outdoors can be considerable throughout the year. The matte white finish is neutral and integrates well with both light-colored facades and walls with stone cladding or fine render. It does not visibly attract dirt and maintains a clean appearance with little maintenance.

The polycarbonate diffuser with an opal finish distributes light evenly, without creating bright spots or sharp shadows. The result is an enveloping light that illuminates the area without dazzling those moving through the space. This makes it especially useful at entrances, access points, or any path walked at night.

The color temperature of 3000K places this light in the warm range. It is not the cold white light of an office, but a tone closer to that of a traditional bulb. Outdoors, that warm hue gives the space a welcoming feel and integrates well with gardens, plants, and natural materials. In a garden with vegetation, warm light enhances the greens and earthy tones without distorting them.

Questions and answers

Is IP54 protection sufficient to install it in an area directly exposed to rain?

Yes. The IP54 rating indicates that the wall light is protected against dust ingress and against water splashes from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor use with direct exposure to normal rainfall.

Does the LED come mounted in the luminaire or does it need to be installed separately?

The SMD LED light source is already included and integrated into the wall light. There is no need to purchase or install any additional bulb.

How much wall space is needed to recess the STRIPE correctly?

The recessing depth is 77 mm. This space must be provided within the wall to accommodate the body of the wall light and the wiring without stress. The most convenient approach is to plan the recess before finishing the wall cladding.
