Overview

This recessed wall light from the brand FARO is designed to be installed on the wall and mark passageways outdoors. It works well as a signal light in gardens, terraces, patios and entrances, where a clear visual reference is needed without saturating the space with illumination.

The fixture emits warm light at 3000K and operates with factory-included SMD LED technology. There is no need to purchase a bulb separately or look for a compatible type. The body is made of aluminium with a matt white finish, and the diffuser is made of transparent polycarbonate. These are materials that hold up well in outdoor use without deteriorating quickly.

FARO is a company with a track record in the decorative and technical lighting sector. Its outdoor products are designed to integrate into different types of environments without losing functionality.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, it is worth checking that the surface is solid and that the wiring reaches the exact point where it will be recessed. As this is a recessed wall luminaire, it is necessary to make a junction box in the wall with the appropriate dimensions to house the body of the fixture. The connection must be made with the power off. If you do not have experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is advisable to hire an electrician.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface of the wall light with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matt white aluminium finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Do not handle the luminaire with the power on. Periodically check that the fixture remains securely fixed to the wall, especially after periods of rain or intense cold.

Design and use

The FARO recessed wall light has a compact format: 94 mm high, 94 mm long and 57 mm deep. It integrates into the wall without protruding too much, making it useful in garden pathways, terrace accesses and outdoor steps where space is limited. Its weight of 200 grams makes it easy to handle during installation.

The aluminium body provides structural strength without adding unnecessary weight. This material does not rust easily and maintains its shape in the face of temperature changes, which is relevant outdoors where conditions vary by season. The matt white finish gives it a clean, neutral look that does not draw too much attention during the day, but fulfils its function when switched on at night.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to come out in a direct and defined manner. The temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, similar to traditional incandescent light. This tone works well outdoors because it does not create a cold or clinical feeling. In a garden or on a terrace, this type of light helps define the boundaries of the space without being harsh.

The included SMD LED light source consumes only 3 W. It is a low-consumption fixture that can be left on for hours without a significant impact on the electricity bill. In addition, LEDs have a long service life, so there is no need to think about frequent replacements.

This wall light works particularly well as signage along outdoor routes: next to steps, along a garden path, on the façade near an entrance or on the side of a wall that delimits a terrace or patio. In these contexts, the lamp is not intended to be the main source of illumination. Its role is to mark the space, provide visual guidance and add a point of light that improves safety without the need to install a higher-powered wall light.

In combination with other fixtures of the same type distributed along the wall or across a façade, a uniform light trail can be created. It is also possible to integrate it with external motion sensors or timers, so that the fixture activates only when there is presence and does not remain continuously on. This can be useful at entrances or low-traffic areas where sensor lighting makes more sense than a fixed light.

Although its primary function is signage, its careful design also makes it valid as a decorative element on garden walls or façade entrances where a tidy style is desired. The matt white works well alongside stone, cement or outdoor-treated wood cladding. It does not impose a specific style, but adapts to what already exists.

Questions and answers

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included in the wall light. There is no need to purchase any additional bulb or look for a compatible type before installing it.

Can this recessed wall light be installed directly on an outdoor wall without additional protection?

The wall light is designed for outdoor use and is fixed directly to the wall. For a correct installation, it is necessary to prepare a junction box in the wall to house the body of the fixture and protect the interior wiring.

Is the colour temperature of 3000K suitable for a garden or terrace?

Yes. The 3000K produces a warm light that fits well in outdoor spaces such as the garden or terrace. This tone is neither cold nor harsh, and helps to visually define the space without creating a sharp contrast with the night-time surroundings.
