Overview

The FARO LED outdoor recessed light is a discreet and functional solution for illuminating entrances, outdoor corridors, garden walls or facades where signalling light makes a real difference. Its compact body fits directly into the wall without protruding more than necessary, and its glass diffuser distributes light gently, without creating excessive bright spots.

It is made of polycarbonate with a matte black finish, giving it a clean look that integrates well in both modern outdoor settings and more understated environments. The transparent diffuser allows light to pass through without distorting it, maintaining clear visibility in the area to be signalled.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor products are designed to withstand typical usage conditions without requiring constant maintenance.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall recessed light, you need the corresponding recessed box (references 70274, 70275 or 70276, depending on the available support). Before starting the installation, make sure the electrical supply is cut off at the main panel. The recessed light is fixed directly into the wall once the box is in place, without the need for special tools. Check that the opening in the wall has the right dimensions to accommodate the box before proceeding.

The polycarbonate surface can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte black finish. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth and, if necessary, a little glass cleaner. Do not handle the luminaire when the installation is live.

Design and use

This FARO outdoor recessed wall light has a very restrained profile: 80 x 80 mm at the front and just 36 mm in depth. This makes it suitable for areas where a conventional wall light would take up too much space or be exposed to knocks. By sitting flush with the wall surface, the overall look is clean and tidy.

The polycarbonate body is a material that withstands temperature changes and light impacts well, commonly used in outdoor luminaires for its durability. The matte black finish avoids reflections and fits with stone facades, exposed concrete, dark wood or smooth cladding. It is also available in a white version for those who prefer that finish.

The transparent glass diffuser allows the 2700K LED light to emerge in a direct and warm manner. That colour temperature, close to traditional incandescent light, creates a more welcoming visual sensation than cool tones, something particularly appreciated at the entrance to a home or in a garden where you want to mark a path without creating a working environment.

The SMD LED light source is included and operates at 220V–240V, the standard voltage of the domestic network in Spain and Europe. With a maximum power of just 2W, energy consumption is very low. This is not a luminaire designed to illuminate large surfaces, but to signal: marking a step, guiding along an outdoor corridor, defining a garden wall or identifying an entrance without the need for a higher-powered spotlight.

In terms of integration with the surroundings, this wall light works well in combination with other outdoor lighting elements. For example, on a facade where there is already a main lantern of greater power, these recessed lights can accompany the path to the door. In a garden, they can be placed along a wall to create a discreet line of light that does not interfere with night vision or generate excessive light pollution, something that is increasingly valued in residential settings.

The weight of the unit is just 60 grams net, making it easy to handle during installation and adding no additional load to the support. Installation requires the specific FARO box, which acts as an anchoring element inside the wall and ensures that the recessed light is correctly fixed and aligned. Without that box, the installation is not secured.

This type of luminaire also fits in covered terraces, balconies with low walls, inner courtyards or any semi-outdoor area where signalling is desired without installing a protruding wall light. Its discreetness is precisely what makes it useful: it does not draw attention during the day and fulfils its function at night without glare.

For those updating the lighting on a facade or in a garden and looking for a signalling solution that does not require major works, this wall recessed light represents a straightforward and uncomplicated option.

Questions and answers

Is it necessary to purchase any additional accessories to install this recessed light?

Yes. To mount this recessed wall light, a specific recessed box is required. The compatible references are 70274, 70275 and 70276. Without that box, the recessed light has no anchoring support inside the wall.

What colour temperature does it offer and what kind of atmosphere does it create?

The integrated SMD LED light source emits at 2700K, a warm tone similar to traditional incandescent light. That colour range creates a calm and welcoming visual sensation, suitable for entrances, gardens and outdoor access areas.

Is it available in colours other than matte black?

Yes. This FARO outdoor recessed light is also available in a white version, for those who prefer a lighter finish that integrates better with facades or walls in neutral or light tones.
