Overview

DART RCT is an outdoor recessed light designed to mark paths, entrances, stairs and walls in open-air spaces. It is installed directly into the wall and provides a warm, discreet light that guides without glaring. It is a practical solution for those looking to illuminate the exterior of their home in an orderly and long-lasting way.

The body is made of polycarbonate and features a transparent glass diffuser. These materials are designed to withstand the conditions of outdoor use, where humidity, dust and temperature changes are common. The integrated LED light source consumes only 5W, making it an efficient option for installations where wall lights remain on for hours.

FARO is a Spanish company with extensive experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine functionality and careful finishes, designed to suit different types of homes and spaces.

Installation and specifications

To install this recessed wall light, a compatible recessed box is required. The references indicated by the manufacturer are 70274N, 70275N and 70276N. Before starting assembly, it is advisable to verify that the selected box fits the thickness and type of wall where the light is to be installed. Electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified professional. The recessed light connects to the conventional 220V–240V electrical mains.

The matte white finish of the body is easy to clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the polycarbonate should not be used. The glass diffuser may accumulate dust over time; simply cleaning it with a soft cloth is enough to keep it in good condition. Periodically check that the wall fixing is secure and that there is no moisture accumulated around the frame.

Design and use

The FARO DART RCT is a recessed wall light designed specifically for outdoor use. Its flat profile, only 36 mm deep, allows it to be integrated into the wall without protruding conspicuously. Once installed, it reads as part of the surface, which is particularly useful when looking for signage lighting that does not visually interrupt the surroundings.

The polycarbonate body offers good mechanical resistance. It is a common material in outdoor luminaires precisely because it withstands impacts well and does not deteriorate quickly with exposure to atmospheric agents. The transparent glass diffuser allows the LED light to come through cleanly, without distortion or loss of light quality. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white light, similar to that of an electric candle, which is pleasant to the eye and creates a welcoming atmosphere at any entrance or outdoor corridor.

The 5W SMD LED light source is already included. There is no need to purchase a bulb separately or worry about compatibility. Power consumption is low, which is convenient when the light is part of an installation with several light points on the façade, garden or outdoor stairs.

This recessed light adapts well to different contexts. At a home entrance, it can be installed along the wall bordering the access path, marking the route in an orderly manner. On outdoor stairs, it illuminates each step without the need for a larger spotlight. In a patio or terrace, it helps define the boundaries of the space without saturating the general lighting. It also works well alongside a garden wall or on the perimeter of an outdoor rest area.

The matte white finish gives it a neutral appearance that combines well with light façades, whitewashed walls or stone cladding. For those who prefer a darker tone, the light is also available in black, making it possible to adapt it to exteriors with more contemporary finishes or grey and anthracite tones.

The compact design, with a length of 190 mm and a height of 80 mm, makes it discreet without going unnoticed. The light it emits is sufficient for signage purposes without the need for a motion sensor or a higher-powered panel. It is not a general lighting spotlight, but an orientation and signage lamp, and that is precisely its strength: it fulfils its function without generating excess light or light pollution in the surroundings.

For installations on garden walls or areas close to green zones, the light can be complemented with other ground or solar light points installed around the perimeter, creating a coherent and well-distributed outdoor lighting system.
