Installation and specifications

To install this recessed light correctly, it is necessary to prepare the recess in the floor or wall according to the indicated dimensions. The recessed housing is included and acts as a structural support. The wiring must be protected and the driver placed in an accessible location for possible future inspection. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician with experience in outdoor installations. Make sure the power supply is switched off before starting any work.

The satin stainless steel body requires no special treatment. To clean it, simply use a damp cloth and, if necessary, a little neutral soap. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the finish. The diffuser glass can be cleaned in the same way. Although the light has IP67 protection, it is recommended to periodically check the condition of the seal and the edges of the recessed fitting to ensure there is no accumulation of dirt or debris that could compromise the installation.

Design and use

The FARO recessed light is built with 316L stainless steel combined with aluminium. 316L steel is a high-corrosion-resistance variant, specifically designed for environments with humidity, frequent rain or prolonged outdoor exposure. This choice of material is not coincidental: it ensures that the light maintains its appearance and functions correctly for years, without rusting or losing structural integrity.

The opal glass diffuser softens the LED emission and distributes the light uniformly upwards. This avoids the concentrated point-of-light effect and instead creates a more enveloping illumination, suitable for marking pathways without causing glare. The colour temperature of 3000K produces warm light, similar to that of a traditional lamp, which integrates well with natural settings such as gardens or patios.

The IP67 rating means that the luminaire is completely protected against dust and can withstand immersion in water of up to one metre for a limited time. For an outdoor installation, this guarantees operation even in conditions of heavy rain or water accumulation in low-lying areas. The IK08 impact resistance adds an additional layer of safety against accidental knocks, which is relevant in pedestrian areas.

One of the most useful features of this recessed light is its ability to withstand drive-over loads of up to 1000 kg. This allows it to be installed in access areas where light vehicles, garden carts or small machinery may pass, without risk of damage to the luminaire. Not all outdoor recessed lights offer this capability, making this model a valid option for garage entrances, access paths or mixed pedestrian and vehicle traffic areas.
