Overview

The FARO recessed floor spotlight is a solution designed for those who want to mark pathways, define zones, or simply add visual presence to a garden, terrace, or patio without complicating installation. It is placed flush with the ground and, once installed, practically disappears during the day. When night falls, it creates a line of warm light that defines the space naturally.

This outdoor luminaire works with COB LED technology and emits a color temperature of 2700K, which is equivalent to a warm, pleasant light, similar to candlelight but more uniform. It is a tone that is not harsh and integrates well in both classic-style gardens and more contemporary spaces.

The body is made of 316L stainless steel combined with aluminum, and the diffuser is made of clear glass. Materials that hold up well over time in outdoor conditions. FARO is a brand with a long history in lighting, with special attention to functional design for outdoor and residential environments.

Installation and specifications

To install this recessed floor spotlight, it is necessary to create a masonry box or recess in the pavement with the appropriate dimensions to accommodate the luminaire body. Before starting, cut the power supply and make sure the wiring is protected and suitable for outdoor use. Since this is a floor recessed fixture, it is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure proper sealing of the connections. The spotlight supports rolled traffic of up to 1000 Kg, so it can be installed in areas with pedestrian and light vehicle traffic.

For maintenance, clean the outer surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or those containing chlorine, which could damage the satin finish of the stainless steel. Periodically check that the glass shows no cracks or chips, especially if the spotlight is installed in high-traffic areas. Since the LED light source is included, there is no need to replace bulbs on a regular basis.

Design and use

The FARO recessed floor spotlight combines discretion and durability in a compact format. With only 80 mm in diameter and 90 mm in height, it integrates easily into almost any surface without creating obstacles or altering the continuity of the pavement. The satin stainless finish gives it a refined appearance that is maintained over time, without oxidation or visible deterioration even in outdoor environments with rain or humidity.

The IP67 protection rating ensures that the luminaire can withstand temporary immersion in water, making it particularly suitable for areas where water may accumulate occasionally, such as irrigated gardens or terraces exposed to rain. The IK08 impact resistance rating indicates that the glass and the assembly can withstand moderate impacts without breaking, an important aspect for a floor spotlight that is directly in the traffic zone.

In a garden, this floor recessed fixture can be used to mark a path between green areas, define the edges of a walkway, or add visual depth to a facade. On a terrace, it allows you to define the perimeter or highlight architectural elements without the need to install posts or wall lights. It also works well in interior courtyards, where the grazing light across the floor creates an interesting visual effect without overwhelming the space.

The 2700K temperature produces warm lighting that promotes a sense of well-being during moments of rest. Unlike cool lights, this tone does not distort the colors of plants, materials, or outdoor finishes. The light is perceived as something natural within the nighttime environment, without creating harsh contrasts.

The aluminum body acts as a heat sink for the COB LED, helping the light source maintain its performance over time. The combination with 316L stainless steel, an alloy especially resistant to marine and chemical corrosion, makes this spotlight a solid option also in coastal environments or those with high ambient humidity.

Thanks to its round format and small size, it can be installed in alignments of multiple spotlights to create continuous light pathways. Combined with other outdoor lighting elements from the same range, the result is a cohesive and functional lighting scheme that does not require constant maintenance.

Questions and answers

What is the maximum load this floor spotlight can withstand without being damaged?

The recessed fixture is designed to resist rolled traffic of up to 1000 Kg, making it suitable for pedestrian areas and light vehicles such as bicycles or garden carts.

Does the IP67 rating mean it can be submerged in water?

IP67 indicates that the luminaire can withstand temporary immersion in water at a limited depth. This makes it suitable for outdoors exposed to heavy rain or occasional water accumulation, although it is not designed for permanent installation underwater.

Does the 316L stainless steel body have specific advantages over other materials?

316L stainless steel is an alloy with greater corrosion resistance than standard steel, especially in environments with high humidity or salt exposure. It is a more durable option for installations in coastal gardens or areas with demanding climatic conditions.
