Overview

A recessed floor luminaire designed for outdoor use. It is installed flush with the ground and provides direct upward light, marking paths, entrances, or walkways in the garden, terrace, or patio. It is a discreet solution: when it is off, it is barely noticeable. When it is on, it defines the space with clarity.

The spotlight has a compact body and withstands outdoor conditions well. With IP67 protection it handles direct rain without issues, and its IK08 mechanical resistance makes it suitable for transit areas. It can withstand wheeled traffic of up to 1000 kg, so it does not matter if someone passes with a loaded wheelbarrow or a wheelchair.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor products combine durable materials with a functional design, intended for real spaces and demanding usage conditions.

Installation and specifications

To install this recessed floor fitting, it is necessary to make a hole in the pavement with the indicated dimensions. The wiring is passed underneath before securing the luminaire. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified technician, especially in outdoor areas where moisture may be present. Make sure the circuit is switched off before connecting. The spotlight sits flush with the floor, so the pavement finish around it must be well sealed to prevent water from entering through the edges.

To clean the surface of the spotlight, a damp cloth and a neutral product are sufficient. Abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the satin stainless steel finish should not be used. Periodically check that the diffuser glass is free of cracks and that the seal around the luminaire remains in good condition.

Design and use

The FARO recessed floor fitting is a 2W LED spotlight designed specifically for outdoor use. Its main function is to mark routes and delimit areas, whether in a private garden, a terrace, the patio of a home, or along a façade. The idea is simple: a line of spotlights placed in the ground guides the eye and the step naturally, without the need for posts or more complex installations.

The body is made of 316L stainless steel combined with aluminium. 316L stainless steel is particularly resistant to corrosion, making it suitable for environments with constant humidity or exposure to rain. The satin finish gives a clean, neutral appearance that fits well with stone, concrete, or outdoor wood paving. The diffuser is made of transparent glass, allowing light to emerge without distortion.

The colour temperature is 3000K, a warm light that is not harsh. In the garden or on the terrace, this type of lighting creates a pleasant atmosphere at night without visually overloading the space. On a façade, it helps to highlight the texture of the pavement and defines the boundaries of the illuminated area.

The spotlight is rated IP67, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and can withstand temporary immersion in water. In practical terms, this means that heavy rain, puddles, or garden irrigation do not affect its operation. In addition, it has an IK08 impact resistance and can withstand wheeled traffic of up to 1000 kg, so it can be installed in areas where people with carts, bicycles, or other light vehicles circulate.

Its dimensions are very compact: 37 mm in diameter and 90 mm in height. This makes it very easy to integrate into the pavement without being conspicuous. A lamp like this, installed at floor level, takes up no visual space and does not interfere with the use of the area. When it is off, it goes virtually unnoticed. The light emerges from below and creates an interesting visual effect, especially on stairs, pathways, or terrace edges.

It can be combined with other outdoor luminaires to create longer routes or illuminate vertical surfaces. Placed in a line along a garden path, several spotlights of this type give a sense of order and proportion. They also work well as accent lighting at the base of a wall or around a patio.

Questions and answers

Does this recessed floor fitting withstand the passage of vehicles or cargo carts?

Yes. The luminaire is designed to resist wheeled traffic of up to 1000 kg, making it suitable for transit areas where carts, wheelbarrows, or bicycles may pass without risk of damage.

What does IP67 protection mean for outdoor use?

IP67 indicates that the spotlight is completely sealed against dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water. In a garden or terrace exposed to rain, this guarantees that moisture does not affect the operation of the luminaire.

Does the 316L stainless steel body require any special maintenance outdoors?

316L stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion and does not require additional treatments. Occasional cleaning with a damp cloth and a neutral product is sufficient to keep the satin finish in good condition.
