Overview

GEISER 180 is a recessed floor light designed for outdoor installation: gardens, patios, entrances, facades, and walkways. Its main function is to project light upward, washing vertical surfaces and highlighting textures, reliefs, and architectural volumes. The result is lighting that adds depth and presence to spaces as night falls.

This recessed spotlight uses COB LED technology, which delivers a concentrated and uniform light beam. The 3000K color temperature offers a warm tone that integrates well with natural materials such as stone, wood, or brick. The frame is made of stainless steel, giving it a clean and discreet finish at floor level.

The model is IP67 certified, meaning it withstands rain, dust, and dirt. It is a luminaire designed to work in outdoor conditions without the need for additional protection. It includes a recessed box to facilitate installation.

FARO is a Spanish brand with extensive experience in the design and manufacture of indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine technical criteria with attention to aesthetic detail, and are designed to last under real-use conditions.

Installation and specifications

To install this recessed floor light, an excavation or recess must be prepared in the pavement with dimensions corresponding to the product's diameter and depth. The included recessed box simplifies this process and protects the internal wiring. It is recommended that the electrical connection be carried out by a qualified installer, especially in outdoor installations where ground moisture can affect the wiring. It is important to ensure that the power cable is protected and properly sealed before covering the installation.

The spotlight operates at standard voltage of 220V-240V, compatible with the standard domestic electrical network. Before switching on the equipment, check that the recessed box is properly secured and that the spotlight sits flush with the floor without protruding excessively.

For maintenance, clean the frame surface with a damp cloth and, if necessary, with a neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the satin stainless steel finish. Although aluminum and 316L stainless steel are corrosion-resistant materials, it is recommended to periodically check the condition of the seal and the frame, especially in areas with high humidity or marine environments.

Design and use

The GEISER 180 by FARO is designed to create light effects on vertical surfaces from the ground. Its function is to direct the light beam upward, gradually traveling along walls, partitions, and facades, generating visual depth and highlighting the details of the materials. This type of lighting is particularly effective in gardens with stone or brick walls, in entrances with textured facades, or in patios where a specific architectural element is to be highlighted.

The body combines 316L stainless steel with aluminum. 316L stainless steel is an alloy with high corrosion resistance, even in environments with salt or constant humidity. The aluminum adds lightness to the structure without compromising the overall solidity. The satin stainless finish gives the spotlight a discreet appearance at floor level, without drawing unnecessary attention during the day.

With a diameter of 180 mm and a height of 195 mm, this recessed light has a compact presence. It integrates well into stone, concrete, compacted gravel, or terracotta paving. Being flush with the ground, it does not interfere with foot traffic and does not become a visual obstacle during daylight hours.

The 3000K color temperature produces warm light that promotes relaxed and welcoming atmospheres. On a terrace or garden with vegetation, this tone complements greens and natural hues without distorting them. On an outdoor facade with exposed stone, that same warmth accentuates the textures and creates a sense of depth that cool light would not achieve in the same way.

The spotlight includes a 12.5 W COB LED light source, which implies moderate consumption with sufficient luminous output for the wall effect this recessed light proposes. LED technology also reduces the need for frequent replacements, making it convenient for hard-to-access installations such as floor spotlights in gardens or paved patios.

The IP67 certification guarantees complete protection against dust and against temporary immersion in water. This makes it a suitable option for areas with frequent rainfall, garden irrigation, or even installations near fountains or ponds. It does not require any additional protective measures against typical outdoor weather conditions.

This type of luminaire works well combined with other outdoor luminaires, creating light paths along a garden or highlighting different points of a facade. It can also be used individually to highlight a single element, such as a staircase, a column, or an entrance area.

Questions and answers

Does the GEISER 180 include the recessed box, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The recessed box is included with the luminaire. It does not need to be purchased separately. This simplifies installation and ensures that the components are compatible with each other.

What level of protection does the IP67 certification offer for this recessed floor light?

IP67 indicates that the spotlight is fully protected against dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water. It is adequate protection for outdoor installations exposed to rain, irrigation, or occasional water accumulation on the ground.

Is 316L stainless steel suitable for coastal areas or high-humidity environments?

Yes. 316L stainless steel has greater corrosion resistance than standard steel, especially in environments with salt or high humidity. It is one of the most widely used materials in outdoor luminaires in coastal areas precisely for this reason.
