Overview

The SCREEN lamp by FARO is a surface-mounted outdoor luminaire designed for wall installation. It is fixed directly onto the wall, without any additional structure, and works well in gardens, patios, terraces, and exterior entrances. It is a practical option for those seeking functional lighting in outdoor spaces without complicating the installation.

The lantern is made of aluminum and transparent polycarbonate, which gives it durability against outdoor conditions. Its IP65 rating protects it against rain and solid particles, and its IK10 impact resistance makes it suitable for areas with greater exposure. Thanks to its 3000K color temperature, it produces warm light that is pleasant in the garden or near an entrance.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting, both for indoor and outdoor use. The SCREEN collection is part of their technical outdoor line, designed for installations that require real performance and materials that stand the test of time.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This lantern is mounted directly on the exterior wall via surface fixing. Before placing the lamp, check that the wall is dry and that the electrical connection point is accessible from the mounting point. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially when working outdoors with exposure to rain. Verify that your installation voltage is compatible with the 100V–240V range indicated on the datasheet.

Use and maintenance. Clean the surface of the lantern with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish or the transparent polycarbonate diffuser. Do not handle the lamp while the power is on. Periodically check the fixing points to make sure they remain securely fastened, especially in areas with frequent wind or rain.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection was created to meet real outdoor lighting needs. It is not an ornamental lamp or an ambient lantern: it is a technical luminaire that performs its function reliably. The aluminum body provides structural stability and the transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through with minimal loss, which means the 14W COB LED performs well.

The dark grey finish blends easily with stone, concrete, or brick facades. It does not stand out excessively or clash with modern or more sober-lined environments. If you have a garden with natural materials or a terrace with dark paving, this lantern integrates without forcing the overall composition.

The 360º version allows light to be distributed symmetrically around the mounting point, which is useful when installed on a column or on a wall that requires uniform coverage in all directions. The wide variant, on the other hand, projects light outward over a greater distance, which makes sense on a garden post or at the entrance to an estate where visibility along the ground is needed.

The 3000K temperature places this lamp in the warm light range. It is not the cold light of a street pole nor the intense yellow of an old incandescent lamp. It is a light that allows good visibility without creating visual harshness, while at the same time creating a calm atmosphere in the patio or at nighttime entrances.

As a surface-mounted outdoor luminaire, the lantern can be combined with other elements of the same type: ground bollards along a path, other wall-mounted fixtures at strategic points on the facade, or post luminaires that add height to the overall setup. It is not necessary for everything to be from the same collection for them to work well together, but it is advisable to maintain a similar color temperature so that the light is consistent throughout the space.

The IK10 resistance and IP65 protection are not just technical figures: they mean that this lantern can withstand a considerable impact and does not require additional protection when it rains. It is a product designed to stay outside all year round, without needing to be brought in during winter or covered during storms.

Questions and answers

Is the COB LED lamp included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is already included with the lamp. You do not need to purchase it separately or look for a compatible model.

What is the difference between the 360º version and the wide variant of this collection?

The 360º version distributes light symmetrically in all directions, ideal for a lantern mounted on a post or column. The wide variant projects light over a greater distance, which is more useful when you need to cover large areas of the garden or the ground in front of the facade.

Can it be installed in an area directly exposed to rain?

Yes. This lamp has an IP65 rating, which indicates protection against water jets from any direction. It also features IK10 impact resistance. It does not require any additional cover for outdoor installation.
