Overview

The RUSH collection by FARO is a technical lighting line designed for outdoor use. This wall-mounted lamp works well in gardens, patios, building entrances, and parks where functional and durable lighting is needed. It mounts directly onto the wall, without taking up floor space or requiring additional structures.

The body is made of aluminum and polycarbonate, giving it solidity without adding excessive weight. The IP65 rating guarantees protection against rain and solid particles, so it holds up well in typical outdoor conditions throughout the year. The IK10 impact resistance protects it against knocks, which is useful in high-traffic areas or zones with greater activity.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting for residential and professional use. Their products combine functionality with careful design, aimed at those seeking solutions that last and blend well into the space.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp, an outdoor power outlet is required, or wiring must be run from inside to the mounting point on the wall. It is recommended that the installation be carried out by an electrician, especially if work needs to be done or cable needs to be run through the wall. Before fixing the unit, check that the surface is solid and level. As a wall-mounted fixture, the anchoring is done directly onto the wall with the included elements.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark gray finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Although the luminaire has IP65 protection, do not submerge it in water or expose it to direct pressure jets. Periodically check that the anchors are securely fixed and that there is no dirt buildup on the diffuser, as this can affect the quality of the emitted light.

Design and use

The RUSH lamp by FARO has a compact and austere design that does not draw attention to itself. The dark gray finish integrates effortlessly into stone, concrete, exposed brick, or modern cladding facades. It is not a decorative luminaire in the traditional sense, but a functional piece that fulfills its role well without interfering with the visual composition of the space.

The aluminum body provides structural stability against temperature changes and continuous exposure to the elements. The polycarbonate diffuser is transparent, allowing the LED light to pass through without filters that would reduce its intensity. The 14W COB LED light source offers direct and uniform illumination, suitable for lighting entrances, garden paths, or passageways in the patio.

The 180-degree light distribution option means the light is projected asymmetrically, covering a wide strip toward the front. This is particularly useful when the lamp is placed on a side wall and the goal is to illuminate a path or a ground area without wasting light upward or to the sides. In a garden, for example, this feature allows the eye to be guided and a route to be marked without the need to install a post lantern or additional ground bollards.

The 4000K color temperature falls within the neutral white light range. It is not as warm as an incandescent bulb, but it does not have the cold tone of office lighting either. Outdoors, this type of light works well because it does not alter the perception of the surroundings too much and allows clear visibility without creating an artificially lit atmosphere. It is a good choice for terraces where ambiance is also desired, or for a patio where real visibility is needed.

As it does not rely on solar energy or include a motion sensor, this lamp connects directly to the mains and operates stably whenever it is switched on. This makes it more predictable in daily use. In combination with an external timer or twilight switch, it can turn on and off automatically without manual intervention.

If you are renovating the outdoor lighting of your home, this luminaire can coexist well with a post lantern at the entrance or with bollards distributed around the garden. It does not compete visually with other elements because its format is discreet and its function is clear. Two or three units spread along a facade or on the walls of a garden can provide sufficient light coverage without saturating the space with lights.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that the lamp has IP65 protection and in what outdoor conditions can it be installed?

IP65 indicates that the luminaire is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. This means it can be installed outdoors exposed to rain without any problem, although it must not be submerged in water or receive direct high-pressure jets.

Does the 180-degree light distribution affect how the lamp should be positioned on the wall?

Yes. The 180-degree option projects light asymmetrically, mainly forward and downward. To make the most of that distribution, it is advisable to install it at an elevated position on the wall, orienting the diffuser toward the area to be illuminated, such as a path or a floor surface.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included with the lamp. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or carry out any additional bulb installation before mounting the luminaire.
