Overview

RUSH is a collection of technical outdoor lighting developed by FARO, a manufacturer with a long track record in lighting solutions for interior and exterior spaces. This wall-mounted fixture is designed to be installed on garden walls, entryways, facades, or passageways where functional, durable light is needed without requiring frequent maintenance.

The lamp combines an aluminum body with a transparent polycarbonate diffuser, making it resistant to both weather conditions and physical impacts. With an IP65 and IK10 rating, it handles rain and accidental contact with objects well. It is a solid option for those who want to install an outdoor luminaire without worrying about weather conditions or occasional knocks.

The 180-degree version allows light to be directed asymmetrically, which is useful when you want to illuminate a lateral area without wasting light toward the ground or in directions where it is not needed. The 3000K color temperature creates a warm atmosphere, without the coldness of white lights. The CASAMBI system allows the lamp to be controlled from an app, adding convenience for those who want to manage their lighting without needing to be physically near the switch.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This wall light is fixed directly onto an exterior vertical surface, such as a facade wall, a garden wall, or the side of a pergola. Before installing, make sure the surface is solid and dry. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Make sure to cut the power before starting any work. The wiring must be protected and sealed to maintain the IP65 protection rating of the lamp.

Use and maintenance. To clean the aluminum body and the polycarbonate diffuser, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the materials. Do not disassemble the fixture while the installation is live. Periodically check the anchors to make sure they remain secure, especially if the area is exposed to wind or significant temperature variations.

Design and use

The RUSH collection by FARO is designed for those who need an outdoor lamp that performs well under real conditions: rain, dust, continuous use. It is not a decorative piece in the strict sense, but a luminaire designed to provide light where it is needed, with materials that hold up without deteriorating over time.

The aluminum body gives the unit solidity without adding excessive weight. It is a material that does not rust, tolerates temperature changes well, and maintains its finish for years. The dark grey color fits well with neutral facades, stone walls, or modern cladding. It does not draw attention on its own, but integrates without clashing into almost any outdoor environment.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without filtering it excessively. This means the fixture illuminates the area in front of it clearly, without the veiled appearance that some opaline diffusers have. In a courtyard or at a garden entrance, that clarity can be important for navigating well during the night.

The 180-degree asymmetric distribution option is a technical detail that makes a difference in certain spaces. When the fixture is installed on a side post or on a wall alongside a path, directing the light to one side prevents it from being lost toward areas that do not need illumination. It is especially useful in parks, garden entrances, or passageways where it matters to cover the ground well without creating glare.

The 3000K color temperature places this lamp in the warm range. Unlike cold lights used in industrial environments, this tone creates a calmer, more pleasant atmosphere. On a terrace or in a residential garden, that warmth makes the space feel more welcoming during the nighttime hours, without losing functionality.

The integration with the CASAMBI system allows the fixture to be controlled via Bluetooth from a mobile device. This is useful when the lamp is installed in a hard-to-reach location or when you want to manage several light points in a coordinated way. It is a solution that adds flexibility without the need to modify the existing electrical installation.

Beacons, garden posts, and other outdoor lighting elements in the RUSH collection share the same materials and aesthetic, making it easy to create a coherent set throughout the entire outdoor space. Combining this wall-mounted fixture with other pieces from the collection in the garden or at the main entrance results in uniform, well-integrated lighting.

Questions and answers

What does the IK10 rating mean for this lamp?

IK10 is the highest level of protection against mechanical impacts. It means the fixture can withstand impacts of up to 20 joules without suffering damage to its structure. This is a relevant feature in passageways or installations where there may be accidental contact with the body of the lamp.

Does the CASAMBI version require a hub or additional installation to work?

The CASAMBI system operates via Bluetooth and does not need a centralized hub to operate in basic mode. It is controlled directly from the app on your mobile phone. For more complex integrations with other lights or home automation systems, an optional gateway can be added, but it is not essential for standard use.

Is it possible to install this wall-mounted fixture in an area where the wall is exposed to direct rain?

Yes. The IP65 rating guarantees total protection against dust and resistance to water jets from any direction. The fixture is designed to be installed outdoors without the need for additional protection against rain.
