Overview

The SAIGON OUT S W100 pendant lamp by FARO is designed for outdoor spaces where stable and long-lasting lighting is needed. It works well on a terrace, in a garden or on a porch where the lamp is exposed to changing conditions. Its fixed ceiling mounting system, without tension cables, gives it a solidity that is noticeable: it does not sway in the wind and does not require frequent adjustments.

The brown color gives it a character of its own. It fits well with natural environments, wood, stone or vegetation, and can work both in a more rustic setting and in a more modern outdoor style. The aluminum body and PEMD diffuser make this luminaire well-suited to continuous outdoor use.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their outdoor products are developed to respond to real-world conditions of use, not just aesthetic criteria.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is essential to have a ceiling point prepared for an outdoor pendant lamp. The cable must be properly routed and protected before hanging the luminaire. Since the mounting is fixed and without tension cables, it is important to ensure that the ceiling surface is solid and suitable for supporting the weight of the assembly. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in outdoor spaces where moisture can affect connections.

For maintenance, simply clean the aluminum body with a damp cloth and avoid abrasive products that could damage the finish. The opal diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. The lamp should not be submerged in water or exposed to direct jets. When it is necessary to replace the bulb, make sure to do so with the lamp disconnected from the power supply.

Design and use

The SAIGON OUT S W100 is an outdoor pendant lamp designed to be installed on the ceiling in a fixed manner. This means it does not rely on tension cables to stay in position: the direct ceiling mounting makes it more stable against wind and the movements typical of an outdoor space. In a garden, that difference becomes apparent over time.

The body is made of aluminum, a material that combines lightness with strength. It does not add unnecessary weight to the ceiling structure and holds up well against temperature changes and the moisture typical of outdoor environments. The diffuser is made of PEMD with an opal finish, which allows the light to be distributed evenly downward, without creating excessive bright spots.

The dark grey finish with brown tones gives it a discreet yet defined visual presence. This is not a lamp that seeks to stand out at any cost, but rather one that integrates naturally into its surroundings. It works well on a terrace with wooden or rattan furniture, on a porch with stone walls, or in a patio with vegetation around it. It can also find a place in a well-covered pergola where a hanging light source with a certain robustness is needed.

For those seeking a more rustic style, the color and materials of this luminaire blend effortlessly with natural elements and aged finishes. And for those who prefer cleaner, more modern lines, the aluminum body offers a more contemporary reading without losing coherence with the outdoor setting.

The total diameter of 1050 mm gives it a considerable presence, suitable for large spaces where a smaller lamp would look visually undersized. In a garden with an outdoor dining area, this pendant can become the visual focal point of the entire corner. On a large porch or a covered outdoor gallery, it provides central lighting that organizes the space without the need for multiple light sources.

The E27 socket is compatible with a wide variety of LED bulbs available on the market. Although the light source is not included, it is easy to find a suitable bulb with the color temperature that best suits the atmosphere you are looking for: from a warmer light to create a cozy corner to a more neutral one if the space also has a functional use.

With a weight of 1.67 kg, the luminaire is manageable during installation and does not require special mounting systems beyond a solid ceiling point. The operating voltage of 100V–240V makes it compatible with the standard electrical grid.

In summary, the SAIGON OUT S W100 is a practical and visually coherent option for those who want a quality outdoor lamp that stays in place and does not require constant attention.

Questions and answers

Why does this pendant lamp not need tension cables for installation?

The design of the SAIGON OUT S W100 includes a direct fixed ceiling mounting system. This eliminates the need for tension cables and makes the structure more rigid and stable, especially outdoors where wind can move a conventional pendant lamp.

Does the PEMD diffuser with opal finish affect light distribution?

Yes. The opal diffuser spreads the light evenly, reducing concentrated bright spots. This is especially useful in a patio or garden where a pleasant ambient lighting is desired, without the bulb being visible to the naked eye.

Does the aluminum body require any special treatment for outdoor use?

No additional treatments are required. Aluminum is a material that by its nature resists corrosion and temperature changes typical of outdoor environments well. Periodic cleaning with a damp cloth is sufficient to keep the finish in good condition.
