Overview

The SAIGON OUT S C100 lamp by FARO is an outdoor pendant designed for spaces such as terraces, gardens, patios, and porches. Its design allows it to be fixed directly to the ceiling without the need for tension cables, making it a more stable and resistant option in unfavorable conditions: wind, humidity, or sudden temperature changes.

The aluminum body with a dark gray finish gives it a solid and understated appearance. The opal PEMD diffuser distributes light evenly, without annoying reflections. It is a suspension luminaire that works well both in modern environments and in spaces with a more rustic character.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their outdoor products are designed to last and to integrate effortlessly into residential environments.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a ceiling anchor point capable of supporting the weight of the lamp is required. Since no tension cables are needed, the cable is neatly tucked away and the fixing is more secure. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially outdoors where the connection must be properly protected from moisture. Check that the ceiling or support structure is suitable for the product's weight before proceeding.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the body finish or the diffuser. Do not handle the luminaire while the power is connected. Periodically check the condition of the cable and anchor points to make sure everything remains in good condition.

Design and use

The SAIGON OUT S C100 is an outdoor pendant with a presence that is both clear and discreet at the same time. Its dark gray aluminum body does not draw attention, but it does not go unnoticed either. It is the type of lamp that fits well on a terrace with a wooden floor, in a garden with dense vegetation, or on an industrial-style porch. It also works in more open patios where focused lighting is sought without installing multiple spotlights.

The opal PEMD diffuser filters the light and distributes it softly. This is especially useful outdoors, where the contrast between the darkness of the surroundings and a direct light source can be uncomfortable. With this lamp, the lighting feels more balanced, without excessive bright spots.

The fixed ceiling mounting system is one of the aspects that sets this pendant apart. By doing away with tension cables, the structure is more robust against wind and other environmental factors. A pendant lamp with tension cables can shift or become destabilized over time in exposed outdoor settings. This version avoids that problem with a more direct and secure mounting.

The 1050 mm diameter makes it a generously sized piece. It works well as the main lighting element in large spaces, such as a pergola or an outdoor gallery. In smaller spaces, such as a balcony or enclosed porch, it is worth considering whether the dimensions fit the surroundings before installing it.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs of up to 15W offers flexibility when choosing the light tone. Depending on the bulb installed, a warmer light can be achieved, ideal for creating a welcoming atmosphere on a summer terrace, or a more neutral light if the space requires greater visibility. In any case, the lamp does not include the bulb, so this should be taken into account when placing the order.

The dark gray finish of the body integrates well with materials such as wood, concrete, or iron. In a garden with rustic elements, this pendant can act as a more contemporary counterpoint without clashing. In spaces with more modern lines, the aluminum and dark color reinforce the overall look.

The weight of 1.67 kg is reasonable for a lamp of these dimensions and allows it to be installed on standard ceilings without the need for special reinforcements, provided the anchor is properly executed. Outdoor lighting for a terrace or patio with a single well-chosen piece can completely change the feel of the space after dark.

Questions and answers

Why does this lamp not require tension cables for installation?

The design of the SAIGON OUT S C100 allows for a fixed anchor directly to the ceiling, without additional support cables. This makes the structure more stable and resistant against wind or other outdoor conditions that could displace a lamp with tension cables.

Does the opal PEMD diffuser provide good protection for the bulb outdoors?

The diffuser serves a light-filtering function, distributing it evenly. To find out the exact level of protection against moisture or dust, consult the full technical datasheet for the product or contact the seller.

What is the actual diameter of the lamp and what spaces does it best suit?

The total diameter is 1050 mm. It is a large-sized piece, suitable for generous outdoor spaces such as pergolas, galleries, or large terraces. In smaller spaces such as a small balcony, it is advisable to measure before installing it.
