Overview

TOBA is an outdoor pendant lamp designed for open-air spaces where lighting must withstand environmental conditions without losing visual presence. It is installed on the ceiling of a terrace, porch, or pergola, and can be used individually or combined with other TOBA units thanks to the connection accessory that is included.

This ability to chain several lamps together is what makes this model different. There is no need to plan a complex installation from the start: you can begin with a single unit and expand the composition whenever you need. The result is outdoor lighting that adapts to the size of the space and how you use it.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine functionality with design built to last, and are present in residential and commercial projects around the world.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a ceiling light point with cable outlet or ceiling rose is required. As this is an outdoor pendant lamp, it is recommended that the wiring be protected and suitable for outdoor use. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if several TOBA units are to be connected in a single composition. Before installing, check that the ceiling surface can support the weight of the luminaire and, if applicable, the weight of any additional units to be hung.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the silicone body or the opal diffuser. Do not handle the bulb while the luminaire is connected to the power supply. Although it is designed for outdoor use, avoid installing it in areas where it receives direct water continuously, such as under an outdoor shower or at a point exposed to intense lateral rain.

Design and use

The lamp body is made of brown silicone, a material that combines flexibility with durability. Silicone tolerates temperature changes and outdoor exposure well, making it suitable for continuous outdoor use. The brown tone integrates easily into natural settings: gardens, patios with vegetation, wooden structures, stone walls, or facades in warm tones.

The diffuser is made of PEMD with an opal finish. This type of diffuser distributes light evenly, without creating bright spots or areas of pronounced shadow. The result is a soft light that illuminates the space without being uncomfortable to the eye, which is especially useful on a terrace or porch where people spend time sitting.

The socket is E27, compatible with standard LED bulbs of up to 12 W. The lamp does not include a bulb, so you can choose the color temperature that best suits the atmosphere you want to create. A warm light enhances the feeling of shelter on an enclosed porch; a more neutral light works better if you need visibility in an actively used patio.

What sets TOBA apart is the ability to create compositions. The joining accessory is built into each unit, allowing several lamps to be connected together and hung in sequence from the ceiling. You can place a row of lights above a garden table, mark the path of a long porch, or create a visual grouping above a seating area on a large terrace. No additional accessories are needed: the system is designed so that installation is straightforward.

This model fits both in a modern setting with clean lines and in an environment with a more rustic character, where natural materials and earthy tones take center stage. In a garden with planters, gravel, or treated wood, the lamp integrates without forcing the overall look. On a terrace with contemporary design furniture, the brown finish adds a warm counterpoint that balances the space.

It also works well on an entrance porch, where a single pendant lamp can be enough to mark the access point and provide visual continuity to the facade. If the porch is larger, the option to chain several units allows more surface area to be covered without the need to install additional ceiling light points.

Questions and answers

Is the accessory for connecting multiple TOBA lamps included with each unit, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The joining accessory is built into each TOBA lamp. No additional elements need to be purchased to create compositions with multiple pendant units.

Does the brown silicone body hold up well to prolonged exposure to sun and rain outdoors?

Silicone is a material with good resistance to temperature changes and outdoor conditions, which makes this lamp suitable for outdoor use. Even so, it is recommended to avoid installing it in spots with direct and continuous exposure to heavy rain.

What type of bulb does this lamp require and what is the maximum permitted wattage?

The lamp uses an E27 socket and accepts up to 12 W. The bulb is not included, so you must purchase it separately. The use of LED bulbs compatible with that socket is recommended.
