Overview

The SAIGON pendant lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for spaces where lighting must withstand environmental conditions while also blending well with the surroundings. It is designed to hang from the ceiling in porches, terraces, patios, and covered entrances, where stable, direct light is needed.

The SAIGON collection is distinguished by its clean lines and unadorned forms. The conical shade in opaque white directs light downward evenly, without direct glare. The visual result is neat: a lamp that does not draw too much attention, but does its job well.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long history in lighting. Their products are designed for real-world use, with attention to constructive detail and material durability. FARO's outdoor collection combines functionality with an aesthetic that does not go out of style.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this pendant lamp, make sure the ceiling anchor point is solid and capable of supporting the weight of the assembly. Since this is an outdoor luminaire, installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if the wiring is exposed to the elements. Ensure that the electrical connection is protected against moisture and that the suspension cable is securely fastened to the ceiling support. Do not exceed the maximum wattage indicated when choosing the E27 bulb.

For maintenance, clean the aluminium body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish. Periodically check the joining points and the condition of the cable to make sure everything remains in place, especially after periods of heavy rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The SAIGON outdoor pendant lamp has a dark grey aluminium structure that gives it solidity without adding visual weight. Aluminium is a common material in outdoor lights precisely because it withstands temperature changes well and does not oxidise easily. The dark grey finish gives it a neutral appearance that works both on modern facades and in more rustic surroundings.

The conical shade with an opaque white cap is the most visible element of this lamp. Its shape directs the beam of light downward, making it especially useful when you want to illuminate a specific area: a garden table, the entrance to a home, or access to a covered terrace. The opaque surface prevents direct glare and produces a more diffuse, pleasant light.

With a total height of 750 mm and a diameter of 450 mm, the lamp has a clear presence without being excessive. It can be hung in medium-height spaces without dominating the overall setting. In a wide porch or pergola, it is well balanced. It also works in interior courtyards or covered galleries where a stable light source is needed.

The SAIGON collection is designed with simplicity in mind. There are no added decorative elements or flashy finishes. This restraint is precisely what makes it versatile: it fits with a stone wall, treated wood, exposed concrete, or metal lattices. In gardens with a more classic or rustic aesthetic, it can serve as a visual reference lamp without clashing. In more contemporary settings, its clean lines integrate it with ease.

The E27 socket is one of the most common on the market, making it easy to find the right bulb. Compatibility with LED allows for low consumption and a long service life, something that is appreciated in outdoor lights that are often on for hours at a time. The bulb is not included, so you can choose the colour temperature that best suits the atmosphere you want to create: warm light for a cosy terrace, neutral light for a functional entrance.

In installations where several pendant lights hang at the same height, such as under a pergola or along a porch, the SAIGON can be repeated without creating an overloaded effect. Its restrained design works well in series. It can also be combined with other outdoor lighting elements, such as wall lights or floor lanterns, as long as they share a similar visual line.

For those renovating an outdoor space or simply looking to update the lighting in a patio or garden, this lamp offers a straightforward solution: it hangs from the ceiling, requires no constant maintenance, and its appearance does not become outdated over time.

Questions and answers

Is the suspension cable of this lamp adjustable in length?

The product is delivered with a total height of 750 mm. If you need to adjust the cable length at the time of installation, consult the electrician carrying out the assembly, as the adjustment depends on the type of cable and ceiling support used.

Does this pendant lamp include the E27 bulb?

No, the light source is not included. You need to purchase separately a bulb with an E27 socket of up to 15 W. It is compatible with standard LED bulbs in that format.

Does the dark grey finish on the aluminium housing hold up well to continuous exposure to sun and rain?

Aluminium is a suitable material for outdoor use due to its resistance to corrosion. The dark grey finish is applied for use in these conditions. Even so, periodic cleaning with a soft cloth helps maintain the appearance of the body in good condition over time.
