Overview

The FARO NARA S lamp is an outdoor pendant designed for open-air spaces where a light source with character is desired. Its cage-shaped shade gives it a recognizable profile, different from what is usually found on the market. It works well on a covered terrace, a porch, a garden with a fixed structure, or any outdoor area where direct ceiling lighting is needed.

The body is made of stainless steel with a black finish, giving it solidity and resistance over time. The opal diffuser distributes light softly, without creating annoying reflections. By fixing directly to the ceiling without tensioners, the lamp stays securely anchored and does not move in the wind, making it more reliable under variable outdoor conditions.

FARO is a Spanish brand specialized in lighting, with decades of experience designing lights for residential and hospitality environments. Their products combine functionality with careful aesthetics, and are manufactured with materials designed to last.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a previously prepared ceiling light point is required. The lamp is fixed directly, with no tensioners or additional visible cables. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves connection to the electrical mains. Before installing the pendant lamp, make sure the ceiling support is capable of bearing the weight of the assembly.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive or chemical products that could affect the black finish of the body. Do not handle the bulb while the lamp is connected to the power supply. Periodically check the condition of the anchor, especially in areas with frequent wind.

Design and use

The NARA S fits well in outdoor spaces with a defined style. The cage-shaped shade is the most visible design element: it creates an interesting play of shadows on nearby surfaces when lit, and during the day it maintains a clean, geometric appearance. It is not a lamp that goes unnoticed, but it does not compete with its surroundings either. It integrates well both in environments with straight, modern lines and in spaces with a more rustic touch, where the black metal adds contrast without clashing.

The black stainless steel body is a practical choice for outdoor use. This material withstands humidity, temperature changes, and continuous use without visually deteriorating. The PEMD diffuser with an opal finish serves a clear purpose: it softens the light and prevents the bulb from being fully exposed. This makes the resulting atmosphere more pleasant, without direct light points that are uncomfortable to the eye.

The 460 mm diameter gives it enough presence to illuminate an outdoor seating area without needing to install multiple lights. On a terrace with a table and chairs, a single pendant of these dimensions can handle the central lighting of the space. On a longer porch, combining it with another side light source is an option, although the lamp already provides good coverage on its own.

In a garden with a pergola or covered structure, the NARA S works particularly well. The direct ceiling fixing without tensioners is a concrete advantage in these cases: there are no elements that the wind can displace, and the assembly looks visually tidier. In an interior courtyard with a ceiling, it is also a good option for creating a warm atmosphere during the evenings.

Compatibility with an E27 LED bulb allows the color temperature to be chosen according to use. Warm light favors relaxing atmospheres on a terrace or in a garden. A more neutral temperature may work better in passageways or work areas. The bulb is not included, which gives freedom to adjust the intensity and tone according to each person's preferences.

The black finish of the body combines with materials commonly found outdoors: dark wood, concrete, natural stone, or ceramic. It also works in combination with rattan or metal furniture. If the space has a wall lantern or another outdoor lighting point, the NARA S integrates well into that setting without requiring everything to be from the same series.

Hanging this lamp on a covered balcony or an outdoor gallery is also a valid option, provided there is an anchor point on the ceiling and the area is protected from direct rain.

Questions and answers

Does the NARA S lamp include the E27 LED bulb?

No, the light source is not included. It is necessary to purchase separately a bulb with an E27 base of up to 12 W. Using LED is recommended for greater efficiency and longevity.

Does the ceiling fixing system require tensioners or additional cables?

No. The pendant lamp is anchored directly to the ceiling without the need for tensioners. This fixed mounting system makes the assembly more stable and resistant to adverse outdoor conditions such as wind.

Does the opal diffuser affect the amount of light emitted by the lamp?

The PEMD diffuser with an opal finish distributes light evenly and reduces direct glare. There will be a slight diffusion compared to an open shade, but the result is a more comfortable and balanced atmosphere for outdoor spaces.
