Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for installation in gardens and parks. With a height of 3.7 metres, it covers a wide area of ground and provides stable, uniform lighting throughout the night. The 360º distribution option means the light is projected symmetrically in all directions, with no shadow zones around the pole.

The body is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, giving it genuine impact resistance, certified to IK10. IP65 protection ensures that neither rain nor dust affects the lamp's operation. It is a floor lamp designed to remain outdoors without the need for frequent maintenance.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its products combine performance criteria with a clean, functional design, intended to integrate well in both private and public environments.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This floor lamp is fixed directly to the ground, so installation requires preparing the base in advance. An outdoor power outlet or underground conduit to the installation point is required. It is recommended that electrical work be carried out by a qualified professional. Before installing, check that the area is free of buried cables or pipes. The fixing must be level so that the pole remains vertical.

Use and care. The floor lamp is designed for permanent outdoor use. To clean the surface, use a damp cloth with water and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Do not handle the luminaire with the power connected. Periodically check the ground fixing points to ensure the pole maintains its correct position.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection is a direct response to the needs of technical outdoor lighting. It is not a lamp designed to decorate in the foreground, but to do its job well: provide light where it is needed, withstand outdoor conditions and remain in good condition over time.

The aluminium body provides structural rigidity to the pole without adding unnecessary weight. The polycarbonate diffuser is transparent, allowing the COB LED light to emerge with minimal filtering. This results in a lantern with direct, clear illumination, with a colour temperature of 2700K, which gives a warm, natural tone. This type of light works well in gardens because it is not harsh and blends discreetly with the surroundings.

The height of 3.7 metres positions the light source at a sufficient distance from the ground for the lighting to cover a wide radius. In a domestic garden, a single floor lamp can illuminate a passageway, a flower bed or the perimeter of a terrace. In larger spaces, such as parks or communal areas of residential developments, several units distributed at regular intervals create continuous, balanced lighting.

The 360º option is especially useful in installations where the floor lamp is placed in the centre of an open space, such as a small plaza or an inner garden roundabout. The light is distributed equally in all directions, without one side being more illuminated than another. This avoids having to think about the orientation of the pole during installation.

The dark grey finish of the body is neutral and adapts well to different environments: gardens with vegetation, stone paths, paved areas or house entrances. It does not draw attention through its colour, which means the floor lamp fulfils its function without visually altering the space. It is the type of luminaire that is noticed when it is on, not when it is off.

IK10 protection means the body withstands impacts of a certain intensity, which makes sense in a garden or park: a ball, a branch, or simply contact with a lawn mower will not damage the structure. Together with IP65, which protects against water in the form of jets and against dust, this floor lamp is prepared for any normal weather conditions.

The included COB LED consumes 38 W and is compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V, so there is no issue with the standard mains voltage in Spain or other European countries. As it draws energy from the mains, it does not depend on sunlight conditions or batteries. This guarantees constant operation, night after night, without interruption. If you are also looking for a solar option for areas without cabling, this model does not include that function, but its low consumption makes it efficient for daily use.

It pairs well with other pieces from the SCREEN collection or other outdoor luminaires in grey or neutral tones. In gardens with a contemporary style it fits naturally. It also works in more traditional settings, where its clean profile does not clash with wrought iron elements or more traditional materials.

Questions and answers

What does IP65 protection on the floor lamp mean?

The IP65 rating indicates that the luminaire is completely protected against dust and that it withstands water projected as a jet from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor installation without the need for additional cover.

Is the COB LED light source included with the product?

Yes, the floor lamp includes the 38 W COB LED light source. It is not necessary to purchase the module separately or carry out any additional lamp installation.

What does IK10 impact resistance mean in daily use?

IK10 is the highest level of mechanical protection according to European standards. It means the body of the floor lamp withstands impacts of up to 20 joules, making it suitable for spaces with activity, such as family gardens or areas of public use.
