Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and access areas. With a height of 3.1 metres, it covers a generous area without the need for additional light points. The 360-degree distribution option guarantees symmetrical lighting around the pole, with no dark zones or pronounced shadows.

The body is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, giving it resistance against impacts, rain and dust. The IP65 protection ensures that the floor lamp operates without problems in outdoor conditions, even in heavy rain. The IK10 rating indicates that it withstands mechanical impacts without visible damage.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Their products are designed both for professional projects and for private use in homes and outdoor spaces.

Installation and specifications

To install this floor lamp it must be anchored to the ground using a suitable base. It is recommended to have a nearby outdoor power outlet and to carry out the electrical connection through a qualified professional. Before starting assembly, check that the ground is firm and that the anchor point is level. Do not install the luminaire on unstable surfaces or on loose soil without a concrete base.

To clean the aluminium body, use a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products that could scratch the surface or damage the polycarbonate diffuser. Periodically check the fixing points to make sure they remain secure. Do not handle the light source while the installation is connected to the electrical mains.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp is part of a technical lighting collection designed for outdoor use. Its design combines aluminium and transparent polycarbonate, materials that hold up well against temperature changes, humidity and continuous use in open spaces. The dark grey finish gives it a discreet appearance that fits both modern and more neutral environments, without drawing too much attention to itself.

The integrated COB LED light source offers a colour temperature of 4000K, a neutral white light that is comfortable for walking through the garden, illuminating pathways or lighting transit areas in parks. It is neither excessively warm nor cold, which allows the surroundings to be seen clearly without being harsh on the eyes. The floor lamp includes the lamp as standard, so it does not need to be purchased separately.

The 360-degree light distribution is one of the most practical aspects of this version. Unlike models with directional emission, this lantern distributes light in a circular pattern around the pole, making it especially useful in central areas of a garden, at path crossings or in small squares. It does not generate a cone of light concentrated at one point, but instead creates a uniform halo around it.

With a height of 3.1 metres, the floor lamp raises the light source high enough to cover a wide area without the need to install multiple lighting points. In medium-sized gardens, one or two well-positioned units may be sufficient. In parks or larger access areas, several can be placed at regular intervals to maintain continuous and balanced lighting.

The integrated DALI system allows this luminaire to be incorporated into installations with smart lighting control. This makes it easy to adjust the intensity from a centralised system, adapting the light level according to the time of day or the needs of the space. It is an option that makes sense both in residential installations with automation and in larger-scale projects.

The IP65 rating protects the luminaire against the ingress of dust and water. This means it can be installed in areas exposed to direct rain without affecting its operation. The IK10 impact resistance adds an additional layer of protection against accidental knocks, which is relevant in high-traffic areas or gardens with frequent activity.

In terms of visual integration, the compact 160 mm profile and dark grey finish mean this floor lamp fits well in environments with stone paving, gravel or grass. It does not clash with vegetation or with neutral-toned facades. It can also be combined with other outdoor luminaires from the SCREEN collection to maintain visual coherence throughout the space.

Questions and answers

Does this floor lamp require an external control system to operate, or can it be connected directly to the mains?

The floor lamp includes a DALI version, which means it supports integration with lighting control systems, but it can also operate connected directly to the standard 220V–240V electrical mains without the need for any additional controller.

Can the transparent polycarbonate diffuser yellow over time due to sun exposure?

The polycarbonate used in the SCREEN collection is designed for outdoor use. The IP65 protection and IK10 rating indicate that the materials are treated to withstand demanding environmental conditions, although periodic maintenance with a soft cloth helps to preserve the appearance of the diffuser in the long term.

Does the 360-degree light distribution mean there are no shadow zones around the pole?

The 360-degree option of this lantern offers symmetrical emission around the vertical axis, which minimises areas without light in the zone near the pole. It is a suitable configuration for central points in gardens or pathways where lighting is needed in all directions from a single installation point.
