Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where constant, uniform light resistant to weather conditions is needed. With a height of 3.1 metres, it covers the surrounding area well without creating dark zones or shadow points. The collection is designed for permanent in-ground installations, both in residential environments and in areas of public use.

What distinguishes this floor lamp is the combination of technical materials, its certified protection and the possibility of integrating it into professional lighting control systems. The DALI version allows the light intensity to be adjusted from a centralised system, which is practical for large gardens or installations where the lighting of several points is managed at once.

FARO is a Spanish company with extensive experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its outdoor products are developed to withstand continuous use and maintain their appearance over time.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This floor lamp is fixed directly to the ground by anchoring. Before installing it, it is necessary to prepare the conduit for the underground electrical wiring, in accordance with current regulations for outdoor installations. The connection to 220V–240V must be carried out by a qualified electrician. If it is to be integrated into a DALI system, the configuration of the control protocol must be done before the complete installation is commissioned. Check that the ground base is level so that the floor lamp stands perfectly vertical.

Maintenance and use. The aluminium body and the transparent polycarbonate diffuser can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive product. Avoid the use of solvents or aggressive chemical products that may affect the dark grey finish. Do not remove the diffuser unnecessarily, as the seal guarantees IP65 protection against rain and dirt.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp is part of a technical lighting collection designed specifically for outdoor use. The entire range shares the same base materials: aluminium for the main structure and polycarbonate for the diffuser. This combination offers mechanical resistance to incidental impacts from the environment, such as accidental knocks during garden maintenance, while at the same time keeping the weight low.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to be projected in a direct and clean manner. In the 360º option, the distribution is completely symmetrical, which is useful when the floor lamp is placed in the centre of an open space, such as a small square or a walkway within a garden. With the wide variant, the light extends further horizontally, covering larger surfaces from the same lighting point.

At 4000K, the colour temperature produces a neutral white light that appears clear without being excessively cold. It is a shade that works well both in private gardens and in collective use areas. It does not distort the colours of the surroundings and allows comfortable vision without eye strain, something that is especially appreciated in areas where people spend more time, such as terraces or access paths to the home.

The included COB LED light source offers a concentrated and efficient emission. This type of LED technology produces good light uniformity in the illuminated area. The floor lamp operates at 220V–240V, the standard voltage in residential and public use installations in Spain and Europe.

The DALI version is especially relevant for those who want to control the light level from a centralised system. This allows schedules to be programmed, intensity to be reduced at certain times of the day or the floor lamp to be integrated into a managed lighting network. For domestic installations with several light points in the garden, this functionality greatly simplifies control without the need to physically operate each luminaire.

The dark grey finish gives the floor lamp a discreet appearance that blends into environments with vegetation, stone paving or wood without drawing attention. It does not visually compete with the garden, it simply becomes part of it. The 160 mm diameter section maintains a slender silhouette for a floor lamp of this size, making it suitable for gardens where the post should not appear bulky or intrusive.

The IP65 protection rating guarantees that neither rain nor dust affects the internal functioning of the luminaire. The IK10 resistance is the maximum level on the impact scale, meaning that the floor lamp can withstand significant impacts without the diffuser or casing giving way. These two certifications together make the luminaire suitable for frequently used spaces.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that the floor lamp has IP65 protection and how does it affect its outdoor installation?

IP65 indicates that the luminaire is completely protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for permanent outdoor use, exposed to rain and humidity variations without the need for additional protection.

Is it possible to adjust the light intensity of this floor lamp?

Yes. This version incorporates compatibility with the DALI protocol, which allows the light level to be controlled from a centralised management system. For this, the installation must have a previously configured DALI controller.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is included. The floor lamp incorporates a 38W COB LED ready to connect, with no need to purchase or install any additional components.
