Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to be installed directly in the ground. Standing 3.1 metres tall, it works well in gardens, parks and green areas where stable, long-lasting lighting is needed. It requires no additional structures or complex supports: it is fixed in the ground and integrates cleanly into the space.

The SCREEN collection combines aluminium and polycarbonate in a construction designed to withstand continuous outdoor use. The dark grey finish blends into natural environments without drawing too much attention. The floor lamp includes an integrated COB LED light source, so there is no need to source a separate bulb.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its SCREEN collection reflects that approach: products designed to perform well under real conditions, without sacrificing the visual appearance of the space.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This floor lamp is fixed directly in the ground, so the base must be prepared in advance. It is recommended to hire a professional for the electrical connection, as this is an outdoor luminaire with wiring. Check that the installation point is level and that the ground has sufficient load-bearing capacity to support the 15 kg pole. The accepted voltage ranges from 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid.

Use and maintenance. Clean the body surface and diffuser with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products that may damage the aluminium finish or the polycarbonate. Although the IP65 protection guarantees resistance to rain and dust, periodically check the condition of the anchor points and seals. Do not handle the electrical installation without cutting the power supply first.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp stands 3.1 metres tall, allowing light to be distributed over a wide area without the need to install multiple lighting points. It is a practical solution for medium to large gardens, access paths, entrances to single-family homes or landscaped areas in residential communities.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that withstands prolonged outdoor exposure without losing rigidity or appearance. The diffuser is made of transparent polycarbonate, which allows the LED light to emerge directly without colour filters that would alter the 3000K colour temperature. That warm temperature creates a calm atmosphere, similar to classic incandescent light, but with the reduced consumption of an LED.

The IP65 protection rating means the floor lamp is sealed against dust ingress and resists water jets from any angle. This makes it suitable for climates with frequent rainfall or coastal areas with high humidity. The IK10 impact resistance is the highest in its category: the diffuser and housing withstand impacts without breaking, which adds peace of mind in public spaces or areas with frequent foot traffic.

The 360-degree variant distributes light symmetrically around the pole, ideal when the floor lamp is positioned in the centre of an area and needs to illuminate in all directions. The wide option, on the other hand, disperses the beam over a greater distance, which works better for long pathways or perimeters where it is important for light to reach far without installing an additional pole.

The included COB LED light source operates at 38W and adequately covers the space required for a garden or access path. Since it is integrated, there is no need to worry about the socket type or compatibility with external bulbs. The lamp operates between 100V and 240V, allowing it to be installed without adapters on any standard domestic electrical grid.

In terms of visual appearance, the dark grey finish of the body integrates well in both natural environments and contemporary design facades and paving. It is not a rechargeable decorative luminaire or a classic-style lantern: it is a technical lamp designed to operate without frequent intervention and with a discreet profile. No visible cables, no elements that stand out above the surroundings.

The weight of the unit — over 15 kg — reflects the solidity of the construction. It is not a lightweight pole that can be moved by the wind: once installed, it stays in place. This is important in gardens where a neat appearance and visual order are part of the final result.

If you are looking for garden lighting that works at night without motion sensors or rechargeable solar systems, and that maintains a constant, warm light throughout the night, this floor lamp meets exactly that need. The 3000K beam creates an atmosphere that feels neither cold nor clinical, but warm and pleasant, inviting you to spend time outdoors even as evening falls.

Questions and answers

Does the SCREEN floor lamp include the light source, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 38W COB LED light source is already included. There is no need to purchase any additional bulb or look for socket compatibility.

What does IP65 protection mean, and for what conditions is it sufficient?

IP65 indicates that the luminaire is completely sealed against dust and resists water jets from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor use in rain, with no need for additional cover.

Are the 360º option and the wide variant the same floor lamp or different models?

They are variants within the SCREEN collection. The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions, while the wide variant projects the beam over a greater distance. Each one addresses a different lighting need.
