Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for open spaces where lighting needs to work well for years without constant maintenance. With a height of 3.1 metres, it covers a wide area and provides light from above in a uniform manner. It is an option designed for private gardens, parks and pedestrian areas.

The SCREEN collection combines aluminium and polycarbonate in a compact and robust structure. The IP65 protection means that rain, dust and outdoor agents do not affect the lamp's performance. The IK10 impact resistance rating is the highest level available, ensuring that the lantern withstands accidental knocks without deteriorating.

The 360° distribution option illuminates symmetrically in all directions, making it particularly suitable for central garden areas or small squares. FARO is a lighting brand with extensive experience in both indoor and outdoor products, with a presence in residential and public use projects.

Installation and specifications

For the installation of this floor lamp on outdoor ground, it is recommended to prepare a concrete base suitable for the weight of the assembly, which exceeds 15 kg. Underground electrical installation up to the anchoring point is required. The connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as outdoor lighting requires protected and approved wiring for outdoor use. Before installing, check that the ground is level so that the post is perfectly vertical.

For maintenance, clean the aluminium body with a damp cloth and a neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish. The transparent PC diffuser may accumulate dust over time; simply clean it with water and a soft cloth. Do not handle the light source or the internal connection without first disconnecting the power supply.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp from FARO's eponymous collection is an outdoor luminaire with a sober and functional design. The aluminium body with a dark grey finish has a discreet appearance that integrates well into natural environments such as gardens and parks, but also in paved areas or residential entrances. It is not a decorative lantern in an old style or wrought iron, but a modern piece oriented towards performance and durability.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows the light from the COB LED to emerge cleanly and without interruption. The colour temperature of 2700K generates a warm light, close to that of a traditional bulb, which is pleasant for walkways or outdoor relaxation areas. This tone of light is particularly suitable for gardens where a calm atmosphere is desired at night, without the coldness of higher colour temperatures.

With 38 W of power and LED technology, energy consumption is moderate in relation to the level of illumination it provides. The 360° distribution means there are no shadowed areas around the lantern, which is useful when the installation point is in the centre of an open area or at a path junction. If placed along the sides of a path or entrance, that wide coverage also ensures the edges are well lit.

The structure measures 160 mm in all its base dimensions and reaches a height of 3100 mm. This balance between a compact base and a generous height allows light to reach from above without projecting annoying shadows at ground level. The weight of over 15 kg ensures stability against the wind, although it is always recommended to anchor it correctly on a solid base.

The SCREEN collection is designed for both residential use and semi-public spaces. In a private garden, a single floor lamp may be sufficient for a regularly used area. In parks or longer paths, several units aligned create a well-defined route. Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 240V makes installation easy in different countries without additional adapters.

The dark grey finish withstands sun exposure and humidity well. Together with IP65 protection, the unit is prepared for varied climates, including areas with frequent rainfall or changing temperatures. The floor lamp comes with the LED light source already included, so there is no need to purchase anything else to get it up and running.
