Overview

The RUSH floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open-air spaces where stable, uniform light is needed that can withstand weather conditions without losing functionality. With a height of 3.1 metres, it covers a wide area from the ground, and its 360º distribution option ensures that lighting reaches all directions equally, with no shadowed areas.

The body is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, materials that combine structural strength with low weight. The IP65 certification protects the interior of the luminaire against rain and dust ingress, making it suitable for permanent outdoor use. In addition, the IK10 impact rating indicates that it can withstand mechanical impacts of a certain intensity, which is relevant in public spaces or high-traffic areas.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in the lighting industry. Its products combine technical criteria with functional design intended for a variety of environments, both domestic and commercial.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This floor lamp is fixed directly to the ground, so before installing it, ensure that the surface is stable and allows for a firm anchor. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as the luminaire operates at 220V–240V and is designed for fixed outdoor installation. The DALI version can be integrated into lighting control systems, which requires compatibility with the existing dimming equipment. The original wiring must not be modified, nor should the internal connectors be exposed to the elements during installation.

Use and maintenance. To clean the floor lamp, simply use a soft, slightly damp cloth on the body and diffuser. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish or the transparent polycarbonate must not be used. Although the IP65 rating provides protection against water, it is not advisable to direct a high-pressure jet directly onto the seals or the interior of the luminaire.

Design and use

The RUSH floor lamp is part of a collection of technical outdoor lighting designed to perform well under real-use conditions, not just in controlled environments. The design is sober and functional: straight profile, dark grey finish and a transparent polycarbonate diffuser that allows the light source inside to be seen without distorting the light distribution.

The lantern emits light at a colour temperature of 3000K, a warm tone that creates a calm atmosphere in the garden or patio without being overly intense. This type of LED light promotes night-time visibility while maintaining a pleasant ambience. This is not cold industrial-grade lighting, but an option designed for areas where people spend time.

The 360º option on this floor lamp distributes light symmetrically around the pole. This is useful on access paths, garden walkways or central areas of a park where lighting needs to reach all directions without installing several additional luminaires. The lantern covers the full perimeter from a single installation point.

The aluminium construction gives the unit rigidity without adding unnecessary weight. The polycarbonate diffuser withstands impacts better than conventional glass, which is practical in high-traffic areas where there may be accidental contact with the luminaire. The IK10 rating certifies this impact absorption capability, something that is difficult to find in a standard residential decorative solar floor lamp.

Thanks to the IP65 rating, the floor lamp operates in the rain without water penetrating the interior. This eliminates the need to remove or protect it during periods of heavy rainfall, something that is necessary with certain outdoor luminaires with a lower protection rating. The lighting remains operational in any normal weather condition.

The DALI version allows this floor lamp to be connected to a centralised lighting control system. This is especially useful in installations with multiple units, as it allows the intensity to be adjusted from a single point without the need to intervene at each luminaire separately.

In terms of integration into the environment, the sobriety of the design means the floor lamp fits well in both modern-aesthetic gardens and more neutral spaces. It does not compete visually with vegetation or other outdoor elements, but integrates as a functional part of the whole.

Questions and answers

Does the RUSH floor lamp require any specific maintenance because it is installed outdoors with IP65?

The IP65 rating continuously protects the floor lamp against rain and dust, so periodic disassembly for protection purposes is not required. Simply clean the exterior with a damp cloth when necessary and check that the seals show no visible damage over time.

What advantages does the DALI version offer over a standard connection?

The DALI version allows light intensity to be adjusted from a centralised control system. It is useful when several floor lamps are installed in the same space and the lighting needs to be adjusted collectively without physically intervening at each light point.

Can the included COB LED light source be replaced if it stops working?

The floor lamp includes the COB LED light source as standard. In the event of a fault, it is recommended to consult a qualified installer, as this type of light source is usually integrated into the unit and does not always allow direct replacement by the end user.
