Overview

The FARO Barcelona PUK projector is an outdoor luminaire designed for those seeking precise lighting in open-air spaces. It is wall-mounted and projects a concentrated beam of light onto surfaces, facades, vegetation, or architectural elements. It is a solid option for gardens, entrances, terraces, and patios where light needs to be directed to a specific point without unnecessary dispersion.

What sets this spotlight apart within the PUK collection is its built-in goniometer, which allows the orientation angle to be adjusted with precision. It works well in both domestic installations and more demanding environments, as it is suitable for saline atmospheres, making it appropriate for coastal areas or those with high humidity. The body is made of aluminium with a black finish, compact, with a diameter of Ø36 mm.

FARO Barcelona has been developing indoor and outdoor lighting solutions for decades. Their products combine functional design with durable materials, and the PUK collection is a good example of that philosophy applied to outdoor settings.

Installation and specifications

For installation, keep in mind that this projector operates at 24 VDC, so it requires a compatible transformer or power supply. It cannot be connected directly to the domestic 220 V electrical mains. It is wall-mounted, and the built-in goniometer allows the spotlight head to be oriented once installed. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional. Check that the mounting surface is firm and that the wiring is protected against outdoor moisture.

For maintenance, clean the aluminium body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the black finish. The transparent glass diffuser can be cleaned with a dry cloth to maintain the optical quality of the beam. Do not handle the spotlight while the power is on. Periodically check the outdoor connections to ensure there is no accumulated moisture at the cable entry points.

Design and use

The PUK projector is a surface luminaire designed for outdoor use. Its structure is compact and discreet: a black aluminium body of Ø36 mm that blends in without drawing too much attention during the day, and performs its function effectively once night falls. The colour temperature of 3000 K produces a warm light that is neither cold nor harsh, ideal for illuminating stone or brick facades, garden plants, pathways, or decorative elements outdoors.

The 20° beam angle makes this spotlight a narrow-beam projector. This means the light is concentrated in a specific area, without spilling to the sides. It is useful when you want to highlight a tree, a column, or a specific part of the facade. The integrated goniometer adds an important advantage: you can adjust the orientation of the projector after installing it, without needing to dismantle anything.

The use of COB LED technology ensures a stable light source with low energy consumption and a long service life. The 4 W of power is sufficient for this type of accent application, where what matters is not flooding the space with light, but directing it with precision. The light source is included, so it does not need to be purchased separately.

One of the most relevant features of this projector is its suitability for saline environments. For those who have a home near the sea or in areas with high environmental salinity, this makes a real difference. The materials and finish are prepared to withstand those conditions without deteriorating quickly.

The PUK collection also offers compatible accessories that expand the possibilities of use. The visor (ref. 75300V) helps control glare and limit the lateral dispersion of light. The honeycomb accessory (ref. 75300H) acts as a grid for even more precise beam control. For installations in the ground or near plants, the stake accessory (ref. 75300S) allows the projector to be driven directly into the earth. And if you want to illuminate a tree from its base or trunk, the tree-mounting accessory (ref. 75300F) facilitates that type of installation without damaging the bark.

With these accessories, the same spotlight can be used in very different ways: wall-mounted to illuminate a facade, driven into the garden ground to point towards a palm tree, or attached to a tree trunk to create upward lighting effects. This versatility means that a single reference covers several needs within the same outdoor space.

The matte black finish of the aluminium body integrates well in contemporary outdoor settings, but also in more natural environments where you want the luminaire to go unnoticed. The transparent glass diffuser does not distort the colour of the light and helps maintain the purity of the beam projected by the LED.

Questions and answers

Can this projector be connected directly to the 220 V electrical mains?

No. The PUK spotlight operates at 24 VDC, so it requires a compatible power supply or transformer. Do not connect the luminaire directly to the mains without that intermediate element.

Is it possible to change the orientation of the projector after installing it on the wall?

Yes. The built-in goniometer allows the projector head to be reoriented without dismounting the fixture. This makes it easy to adjust the illuminated point once the installation is already complete.

Does the stake accessory allow this spotlight to be used directly in the garden ground?

Yes. With the stake accessory (ref. 75300S) you can drive the projector into the ground and orient it upward, for example to illuminate shrubs or decorative elements from ground level. The accessory is purchased separately.
