Overview

The CLAP projector by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for precise illumination. Its compact size makes it nearly invisible on the ground, while the light does all the work. It is a spotlight conceived for spaces where lighting is part of the design: entrances, access paths, gardens, patios, facades, or any outdoor area that needs a well-defined visual accent.

Its 15° angle concentrates the light beam and allows specific elements to stand out: a plant, a tree, a stone wall, or an architectural detail. The light source is recessed into the body, ensuring visual comfort without direct glare. The light point itself is not visible — only the effect it produces.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in residential and architectural lighting. Its products combine rigorous technical criteria with an aesthetic approach designed to blend into the surroundings, not to impose upon them.

Installation and specifications

For installation, this spotlight requires a fixed electrical connection. As a floor-mounted outdoor luminaire, it is essential that the wiring be protected and routed through conduits suitable for outdoor use. Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended. Before fixing the luminaire, verify that the mounting surface is level and stable. The projector is compact and lightweight, but precise orientation is key to achieving the desired effect.

For maintenance, simply clean the aluminum body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the rust brown finish. Do not handle the luminaire while the installation is live.

Design and use

The CLAP projector is made of aluminum with a rust brown finish. It is a material that withstands outdoor conditions well and, in this tone, blends easily with natural surfaces: earth, stone, aged wood, concrete. The body is extremely compact, with only 63 mm in height and 36 mm in width. On the ground, it practically disappears.

This discretion is not accidental. The CLAP spotlight belongs to a family of architectural lighting designed so that the structure remains in the background. What matters is the luminous result, not the fixture. That is why the COB LED light source is recessed: from any lateral viewing angle, the eye does not receive the direct impact of the light point. It only sees the effect on the illuminated surface.

The 3000K color temperature produces a warm light, similar to that of traditional halogen. It is a tone that enhances natural materials, adds ambient warmth, and does not generate the bluish coldness that some LED spotlights convey. In a garden, on a terrace, or at the entrance of a home, this temperature gives the outdoor space a more welcoming character when night falls.

The 15° angle makes this projector an accent tool. It is not designed to illuminate large surfaces, but to direct attention. Placed at the base of a tree, it creates a scenic effect that completely changes the nighttime perception of the garden. Aimed at a stone or brick facade, it highlights the texture of the material. On an outdoor staircase, it can mark the edge of each step without requiring a complex installation.

Within the CLAP family, this projector is the core. The collection includes stakes, bollards, wall lights, and pendants, all sharing the same aesthetic and formal language. This allows for the creation of a unified outdoor lighting system, where each light point plays a different role but the whole maintains visual coherence. The result is an exterior that appears designed, not merely lit.

The CLAP anti-glare visor is a compatible accessory that allows even greater control of the beam. In situations where the spotlight is in direct line of sight — for example, along paths or walkways — the visor reduces the reflector effect and improves comfort without losing lighting power.

With only 6W of consumption, this LED spotlight delivers efficient performance for continuous outdoor use. It is not a powerful projector in terms of mass luminous flux, but a precise one: its energy is concentrated exactly where it is needed. For those looking to illuminate large surfaces uniformly, this is not the right product. But for creating light points with character, it is hard to find a more compact and clean solution.

The rust brown color of the body is not just an aesthetic choice. In natural environments — garden, patio, landscaped area next to a pool — earthy tones help the luminaire blend into the landscape during the day, when it is not switched on. The installation remains discreet even in the absence of light.

Questions and answers

Does the CLAP projector include the LED light source, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included. No additional components need to be purchased to begin using the luminaire.

Is it possible to combine this projector with other elements of the CLAP collection to create a uniform lighting system?

Yes. The CLAP projector is designed to integrate with the rest of the family: stakes, bollards, wall lights, and other solutions from the same line. They all share the same aesthetic, so the visual result outdoors is cohesive.

What kind of effect does the 15° angle produce in a real installation?

Such a narrow angle concentrates the beam onto a very specific area. It acts as an accent reflector, ideal for highlighting specific elements such as vegetation, wall textures, or architectural features. It does not generate general ambient lighting, but a precise focus on a specific surface.
