Overview

The SCREEN lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for wall mounting — surface-mounted — that fits well in gardens, patios, entrances, and walkways. Its technical design and construction in aluminum and polycarbonate make it suitable for both residential installations and larger spaces such as parks or public access areas.

What sets this lamp apart from the rest is the combination of real protection against water and impacts with a light distribution designed for outdoor use. The asymmetric 180° lighting option allows the beam to be directed exactly where needed, without wasting light upward or toward areas that do not require illumination. The COB LED technology and the 3000K color temperature produce a warm light that complements outdoor spaces without creating a harsh contrast with the surroundings.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products combine technical criteria with attention to finish, and the SCREEN collection is a good example of that approach.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, check that the chosen surface is solid and capable of holding the anchor without any problem. Although the weight of the unit is minimal, it is advisable to fasten the screws correctly to avoid movement or leaks. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves connection to the 220V–240V electrical mains. Make sure to cut the power before any intervention.

To clean the housing, use a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Although the IP65 rating protects against rain and humidity, do not submerge the lamp or direct jets of water directly onto it. Periodically check the condition of the sealing and anchors, especially in areas with sudden temperature changes.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection is designed for technical outdoor lighting, and this wall-mounted lamp is one of its most versatile pieces. It is installed directly onto a wall or any vertical surface, making it a practical option for the garden, terrace, patio, or access areas of a home.

The body combines aluminum with polycarbonate, two materials that complement each other well outdoors: aluminum provides structure and strength, while polycarbonate helps reduce the total weight. The diffuser is also made of transparent polycarbonate, which allows light to emerge in a direct and defined manner, without filters that would reduce the intensity of the beam.

The dark grey finish integrates easily with facades, stone walls, or neutral-toned cladding. It does not draw too much attention during the day, but at night it fulfills its function well without being intrusive. It is the type of lamp that one places on an entrance post or on the garden wall and that over time becomes part of the space without anyone noticing it in any particular way.

The IK10 rating indicates the maximum resistance to mechanical impacts contemplated by the standard, which is useful in areas with frequent foot traffic, environments with physical activity, or installations where the lamp may be exposed to accidental impacts. The IP65 guarantees complete protection against dust and against water projected from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor use without the need for additional protection.

COB LED technology concentrates several diodes into a single compact module, resulting in a uniform and well-defined light source. With 14 W of power and a color temperature of 3000K, the luminaire produces a warm light that favors calm atmospheres as night falls. In a garden or patio, that warm tone creates an atmosphere that is neither cold nor clinical, but rather closer to the light of a candle or a traditional lantern.

The CASAMBI version allows this lamp to be integrated into a wireless control system, making it easy to automate and adjust the lighting from an application. This is especially useful when several units are installed along an access route or in a large garden, as it allows all of them to be managed from a single point without the need for additional control wiring.

The asymmetric 180° lighting angle is another point to consider. Instead of distributing light in all directions, it concentrates it in a specific arc. This is useful when you want to illuminate a path, a floor area in front of an entrance, or a specific zone without affecting parts of the surroundings that do not need light.

Questions and answers

What does the asymmetric 180° lighting option of this lamp exactly mean?

The asymmetric 180° distribution indicates that the light beam is not projected in all directions, but is concentrated in a specific arc. This allows the light to be directed toward a specific area, such as a path or a floor surface, without illuminating adjacent areas that do not need it.

Is it possible to control this lamp from a mobile phone thanks to CASAMBI technology?

Yes. The CASAMBI version allows the lamp to be integrated into a wireless control system compatible with the CASAMBI application. From there, you can adjust the on, off, and other functions without the need for additional control wiring installation.

Is the IP65 rating sufficient to install this lamp in an area directly exposed to rain?

Yes. The IP65 guarantees complete protection against dust and against water projected from any angle, which includes direct rain. The lamp is designed for outdoor use without the need for a cover or additional protection.
