Overview

The AGRA 200 beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to mark pathways, border entrances, and add visual presence to gardens and open areas. It mounts directly on a wall or vertical surface, with no need for a post or pedestal. Its aluminum body in a dark grey finish holds up well in outdoor conditions, and its 2700K color temperature provides warm light that does not distort the surroundings but rather complements them.

What sets this lantern apart is the way it distributes light: it emits light through all four sides of the body, creating a balanced and uniform visual effect around the fixture. There is no dominant direction. The light wraps the space softly, which is especially useful in entrances, outdoor corridors, or terraces where both functionality and a decorative touch are desired.

FARO is a company with extensive experience in lighting for residential and commercial spaces. Their products combine durable materials with contemporary design intended to integrate into different types of environments.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp, it must be fixed to an exterior vertical surface, such as a wall or pillar. Before mounting, make sure the surface is solid and free of moisture. The connection must be made with the power off. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, it is best to hire an electrician. Verify that the wiring is compatible with the indicated voltage before connecting.

Aluminum does not require frequent maintenance, but it is advisable to clean the lantern's surface periodically with a dry or slightly damp cloth to prevent dirt buildup. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. The transparent glass diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Avoid direct impacts on the glass.

Design and use

The AGRA 200 lamp belongs to a collection of outdoor beacons designed for those who want to shape the lighting of their garden or terrace without giving up a clean, contemporary design. The aluminum body has a solidity that is noticeable to the touch, and the dark grey finish gives it a discreet character that integrates well both on modern facades and in natural environments with vegetation.

The transparent glass diffuser allows the light from the COB LED to emerge clearly through all four sides of the lantern. This is not a minor detail: many outdoor lights project light in a single direction, creating shadows and unlit areas. Here the effect is different. The lamp functions almost as a light point in itself, visible from different angles, making it useful both for marking pathways and for creating an ambiance at ground level on a terrace or around a patio.

With 9W of power and a color temperature of 2700K, it produces warm light that does not glare. It is the type of light that does not interfere with visual rest and, at the same time, clearly defines the space when night falls. It is suitable for passageways, next to entrance doors, at garden access points, or along the sides of outdoor staircases.

The compact size of the fixture, 200mm high and 108mm in the other two dimensions, allows it to be installed in spaces where a bulkier lantern would be excessive. It does not take up much space, but it has enough visual presence to fulfill both its functional and decorative purpose. Its weight of just over one kilogram makes it easy to transport and install.

The AGRA collection is available in different sizes, making it possible to combine several units in the same space to achieve a staggered or repeated lighting effect along a pathway. Two or three beacons placed at regular intervals on a garden floor or on an exterior wall create an orderly and aesthetically coherent visual effect.

The wall-mount fixing means there is no need to install a post or work the ground. It simply needs to be anchored to the wall at the desired point. This considerably simplifies installation and allows the height at which the lamp is placed to be adjusted according to the needs of each space. On a terrace, for example, it can be placed at mid-height to illuminate the area without interfering with views or nearby decorative elements.

Aluminum, in addition to being corrosion-resistant, is a lightweight material that adds no unnecessary weight to the installation. The dark grey finish, for its part, is neutral in terms of color, which means the lantern adapts to a wide variety of facades, pavements, and garden elements, from the simplest to the most elaborate.

Questions and answers

Can this beacon be installed directly in the ground or on a post?

No. The AGRA 200 model is specifically designed for wall mounting, meaning it is installed on a vertical surface such as a wall or pillar. It is not suitable for installation in the ground or on a freestanding post.

Is the LED lamp included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 9W COB LED light source is already included with the lantern, ready to connect once installation is complete.

Is the 2700K color temperature suitable for outdoor areas with vegetation or garden zones?

Yes. The 2700K produces warm light with soft yellow tones that integrates well in natural environments. It does not create a cold contrast that distorts garden colors, but rather creates a pleasant and discreet atmosphere as night falls.
