Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open-air spaces. With a height of 3.7 metres, it covers a wide area around the installation point, especially in the 360º distribution version, which spreads light symmetrically in all directions. It is an option designed for those who want functional and durable lighting without complications.

The body is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, materials that hold up well in outdoor conditions. The IP65 certification protects the luminaire against rain and dust ingress. In addition, the IK10 impact resistance rating indicates that it can withstand impacts without the unit being affected. It requires no frequent maintenance or constant replacements.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its SCREEN collection is aimed at projects where a technical, robust and uniformly finished floor lamp is needed, both for residential use and for public spaces.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This floor lamp is fixed directly to the ground. Before installing it, check that the surface is level and that the anchor point has access to the 220V-240V electrical supply. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially since this is an outdoor luminaire connected to the mains. The CASAMBI version allows it to be integrated into a wireless control system, making it easy to manage switching and intensity without the need for additional control wiring.

Use and care. The transparent PC diffuser can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may scratch the surface. The aluminium body with dark grey finish requires no special treatment, but it is advisable to periodically check the ground anchor points to ensure they remain secure.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection is conceived as technical outdoor lighting. Each element of the collection shares the same materials and protection levels, making it possible to combine different pieces within the same project without losing visual coherence. This 3.7-metre floor lamp is the tallest option in the range, designed for gardens with medium-sized vegetation or parks where it is necessary to cover a walkway with continuous light.

The aluminium body gives it a structure that is both solid and lightweight. Aluminium does not oxidise with moisture and maintains the dark grey finish without staining or discolouration over time. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without distortion, resulting in a clean and uniform beam. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light, neither too cool nor with yellow tones, which allows the details of the surroundings to be seen clearly without creating an artificially cold feeling.

The 360º option is especially useful in areas where the floor lamp is placed at the centre of a space and needs to illuminate equally in all directions. On a garden path, for example, a floor lamp with this distribution covers both sides of the route without shadow areas. In a small square or on a large terrace, the result is a homogeneous lighting that leaves no dark corners.

The integrated COB LED source operates at 38W and is included in the luminaire, so no additional components need to be purchased before installation. This type of LED source concentrates several diodes on the same surface, producing more uniform light compared to other configurations. Energy consumption is moderate for the height and coverage the floor lamp provides.

The CASAMBI version adds the ability to control the luminaire from a mobile application via Bluetooth. This allows the intensity to be adjusted, switching schedules to be programmed, or groups of luminaires to be managed together. It is a practical option in gardens where several floor lamps are installed and their operation needs to be coordinated without relying on a complex home automation system.

The dark grey finish works well with stone, gravel or polished concrete floors, and does not clash with dense vegetation or facades in neutral tones. It is not a decorative piece in the ornamental sense, but its clean design and proportions mean it integrates well in contemporary settings or in carefully designed parks. If the space has a more classical style, it can also work well alongside wrought iron or natural stone elements, as the vertical and austere form of the floor lamp does not impose a specific style.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that the floor lamp has IP65 certification?

The IP65 rating indicates that the luminaire is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor installations exposed to rain, without moisture affecting the internal operation.

Does the CASAMBI version need an additional hub or controller to work?

CASAMBI technology operates via Bluetooth and does not require a central hub. The app on your phone is all that is needed to control the floor lamp directly, which simplifies installation and reduces the cost of the control system.

What level of impact resistance does the polycarbonate diffuser offer?

The SCREEN collection has IK10 resistance, which is the highest level on the mechanical impact protection scale. This means the PC diffuser can withstand impacts of a certain intensity without breaking or cracking.
