Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks, and open spaces where stable, long-lasting light is needed. With a height of 3.7 metres, it covers a wide area without occupying visual space at ground level. Its 360º distribution option offers symmetric illumination around the pole, making it useful on pathways as well as outdoor rest areas.

The floor lamp is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, giving it solidity without adding unnecessary weight. It features IP65 certification and IK10 impact resistance, so it withstands outdoor conditions well: rain, dust, and the usual wear of a public or private space.

FARO is a Spanish brand with experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its products are found in residential, commercial, and landscaping projects throughout Europe.

Installation and specifications

For installation, an underground power outlet or protected wiring must be provided up to the anchoring point in the ground. Fixing is directly to the pavement or to a concrete base, depending on the type of terrain. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves connection to a 220V–240V mains supply. Before securing the floor lamp, it is advisable to check that the ground is level to avoid tilting.

For maintenance, it is sufficient to clean the body and diffuser with a damp cloth and mild soap. Abrasive products or solvents that may damage the polycarbonate should not be used. Although the floor lamp is designed for outdoor use, it is advisable to periodically check the anchoring points to ensure they remain secure.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp is part of a technical lighting collection designed for outdoor use. The entire collection shares the same materials and protection standards, making it easy to combine several units within the same space without visual or technical inconsistencies.

The aluminium body provides structural stability. It is a material that withstands temperature changes well and does not deteriorate with moisture. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser lets light through without filtering it excessively, resulting in clear, uniform illumination around the lamp post. The dark grey finish integrates easily into urban environments, contemporary gardens, or residential entrances where a clean design is sought without drawing too much attention.

The colour temperature of 4000K corresponds to neutral white light. It is not the orange warmth of an old street lamp, nor the bluish coolness of some industrial lamps. It is a light that allows good visibility without creating an overly clinical atmosphere, making it suitable for areas where people move around or spend some time: entrances, pedestrian pathways, garden rest areas, or patio edges.

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions. This is useful when the floor lamp is placed at a central point, such as the intersection of several paths or the centre of a small square. The wide variant, on the other hand, projects light over a greater horizontal distance, making it more effective for illuminating long strips of ground, such as an access path or the perimeter of a garden.

The integrated COB LED technology consumes 38 W and is included in the luminaire. There is no need to purchase the bulb separately or look for compatibility. This lamp is ready to connect and operate from the very first moment.

The CASAMBI version allows the floor lamp to be integrated into a wireless control system. From an app, you can adjust the intensity, schedule operating times, or group several units to manage them together. It is a practical option for installations where lighting covers several zones and centralised control is desired without the need for additional wiring for automation.

With IP65, the floor lamp is protected against dust and direct water jets. The IK10 resistance indicates that it withstands mechanical impacts of a certain intensity, making it suitable for spaces with some traffic or exposure to external elements.

Questions and answers

Does the floor lamp include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The floor lamp includes the 38 W COB LED light source. No additional lighting components need to be purchased.

What does the 360º option mean and when is it advisable to choose it over the wide variant?

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions, which is suitable for central points of a garden or plot. The wide variant projects light over a greater lateral distance, so it works better for illuminating pathways or elongated areas.

Is it possible to control this floor lamp from a mobile phone or integrate it into a home automation system?

Yes, this floor lamp has a CASAMBI version, a wireless control system that allows you to manage switching, intensity, and schedules from an app. It is compatible with installations where several outdoor luminaires are managed centrally.
