Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where constant, uniform light resistant to environmental conditions is needed. With a height of 3.7 metres, it covers a wide area from the ground without the need for additional structures.

The SCREEN collection works with COB LED technology and emits light at 3000K, a warm colour temperature that creates calm atmospheres at nightfall. The 360º distribution option ensures that illumination reaches all directions symmetrically, with no shadowed areas.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Their products combine durable materials with a functional design, intended for installations that must remain in good condition for years.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this outdoor floor lamp, verify that the ground anchor point has the base prepared to receive the post. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as the wiring is integrated inside the column. Check that the mains voltage is compatible with the indicated 220V–240V. If installed in an area with pedestrian traffic, make sure the anchor is level and firm to avoid vibrations.

To clean the aluminium body, use a damp cloth with water and, if necessary, a neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Do not direct pressurised water jets directly onto the connection points. Periodically check the condition of the ground anchor, especially after periods of heavy rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp is part of a technical outdoor collection designed for environments that demand resistance and sustained performance. The body is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, two materials that complement each other well: aluminium provides structural rigidity while polycarbonate offers lightness and impact resistance. The IK10 rating means the floor lamp can withstand considerable impacts without the structure being compromised, which is relevant in areas with frequent traffic or activity.

The IP65 protection rating ensures that neither dust nor rain can penetrate the interior of the luminaire. This makes it a valid option for permanent installation in private gardens, public parks, access paths or any outdoor space exposed to the elements. Lighting in these environments requires equipment that does not need constant intervention, and the combination of materials and protections in this floor lamp responds exactly to that need.

The 38W COB LED light source delivers efficient performance for illuminating large surfaces. The 3000K colour temperature projects a warm light that is not visually harsh. In a garden, that tone allows the colours of the surroundings — vegetation, stones or paving — to be perceived naturally, without the coldness generated by higher colour temperatures. The 360º distribution option means light reaches all directions symmetrically around the post, with no illuminated side and no side in shadow.

Compatibility with the DALI protocol allows this floor lamp to be integrated into wider lighting control systems. This is useful in installations where the lighting intensity needs to be adjusted according to the time of day or environmental conditions, without needing to replace the physical equipment.

With a height of 3.7 metres, the floor lamp raises the emission point high enough to cover a considerable area without creating direct glare at eye level. In a residential garden, that elevated light source creates a sense of nocturnal spaciousness similar to that of street or urban park lighting. Combined with other luminaires from the same SCREEN collection, it is possible to create a coherent visual path from the entrance to the back of the outdoor space.

The dark grey finish of the body integrates well in modern environments and also in gardens with natural elements such as wood, stone or dense vegetation. It does not draw attention during the day and fulfils its function at night. The transparent diffuser does not alter the colour of the emitted light, ensuring that the 3000K temperature reaches the surroundings exactly as designed.

For a patio or terrace with dark paving, this floor lamp adds a clear visual reference point without saturating the space. In larger gardens, several units distributed along a path create continuous and balanced lighting.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that this floor lamp has 360º light distribution?

The 360º option allows light to be emitted symmetrically in all directions around the post. This ensures uniform coverage with no shadowed areas, which is especially useful on paths or open areas where lighting needs to reach all sides equally.

What level of protection does IP65 offer in real outdoor conditions?

The IP65 rating indicates that the floor lamp is completely protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. In practice, this means it can be permanently installed outdoors without risk of rain or humidity affecting the operation of the equipment.

Is the SCREEN floor lamp compatible with lighting control systems?

Yes, this version includes the DALI protocol, which allows it to be integrated into lighting control systems to regulate intensity in a centralised manner. It is a useful option in installations where the lighting level needs to be adapted according to the schedule or environmental conditions.
