Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where stable, long-lasting light is needed. With a height of 3.7 metres, it covers the surrounding surface well without creating dark spots or areas with uneven light. The 360º version offers a symmetrical distribution around the pole, while the wide variant projects the lighting over a greater distance, which is useful in larger areas.

The floor lamp resists impacts thanks to its IK10 rating and features IP65 protection, meaning it operates without issue in rain and in environments with dust or dirt. It is made from aluminium and polycarbonate, materials that withstand outdoor conditions well without requiring constant attention.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in lighting. Its SCREEN collection is part of its technical outdoor range, where functionality takes precedence over decoration, although the visual result is clean and understated.

Installation and specifications

For the installation of this floor lamp in the ground, it is recommended to have a qualified electrician, as the wiring must be connected to the main electrical network. Before installing, check that the anchor point is level and free of accumulated moisture. The wiring must be protected underground or through suitable outdoor conduit.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products that may scratch the surface. The dark grey aluminium body requires no additional treatment, but it is advisable to inspect it periodically to detect any possible dirt build-up at the base. Do not handle the luminaire while the electrical installation is connected.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp combines aluminium and polycarbonate in a structure designed to withstand outdoor conditions without losing presence. The dark grey body integrates well into gardens with vegetation, stone paths or urban environments with a restrained design. It does not draw excessive attention — it is simply there and does its job.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows the LED source to be seen directly, giving it a more technical than decorative appearance. The light it emits has a colour temperature of 2700K, meaning a warm tone, similar to sunset sunlight. This makes the garden feel welcoming at night without the coldness generated by white lights.

The integrated COB LED technology offers uniform emission. There are no individual visible light points, but rather a continuous luminous surface. This results in more homogeneous lighting across the ground and nearby vegetation. The floor lamp includes the light source, so there is no need to purchase it separately.

The 360º option is ideal when the floor lamp is positioned in the centre of a path or in an open area where it is necessary to illuminate equally in all directions. If, on the other hand, it is placed near a wall or at the boundary of a plot, the wide variant is more efficient because it concentrates the beam towards the useful area and reaches a greater distance.

In a residential garden, this floor lamp works well as a main light point along an access path or at the entrance to the home. In parks or communal spaces, several units installed at regular intervals create a coherent line of lighting with no gaps. Being a pole luminaire, it coexists well with other outdoor elements such as benches, planters or wooden enclosures.

The dark grey finish is neither the typical deep black nor the light silvery grey. It is an intermediate tone that does not stand out excessively during the day and, at night, practically disappears, letting the light take centre stage. This characteristic makes it compatible with gardens in a contemporary style, but also with more natural environments where earth tones and vegetation predominate.

With IP65, the floor lamp is prepared for frequent rain, fog and continuous exposure to ambient humidity. The IK10 resistance rating indicates that the unit withstands mechanical impacts, which is relevant in spaces with pedestrian access or in areas where there may be physical activity near the luminaire.

Questions and answers

Does the SCREEN floor lamp include the LED light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included. It is not necessary to acquire any additional component for the floor lamp to function.

What is the practical difference between the 360º version and the wide variant of this floor lamp?

The 360º version distributes light symmetrically in all directions, which is useful when the floor lamp is in an open area surrounded by surface to illuminate. The wide variant projects the beam with greater reach in a specific direction, which is more suitable for corridors or linear access paths.

Is IP65 protection sufficient for permanent outdoor installations with frequent rain?

Yes. The IP65 rating guarantees complete protection against dust and against water jets from any direction, so this floor lamp is ready to remain permanently installed outdoors without issues arising from rain.
