Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and passageways. With a height of 3.1 metres, it covers large surfaces without the need to install multiple light points. The 360-degree distribution option spreads the lighting symmetrically around the pole, with no shadowed areas.

The SCREEN collection is made from aluminium and transparent polycarbonate. These materials hold up well against outdoor conditions: rain, wind, dust and impact. The IP65 protection rating ensures that neither water nor solid particles compromise the lamp's operation. The IK10 resistance rating is the highest level of protection against mechanical impacts, making it suitable for public spaces.

FARO is a company with decades of experience in lighting. Its technical outdoor collection combines durable materials with a discreet design that adapts effortlessly to different environments.

Installation and specifications

This floor lamp is fixed directly to the ground. Given its weight of over 15 kg and its height of 3.1 metres, it is recommended to prepare a solid anchor base before installation. Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified technician. Before connecting the luminaire, check that the electrical installation supports the voltage of 100 V to 240 V indicated in the specifications.

For maintenance, clean the body surface with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents on the polycarbonate diffuser. Periodically check the ground anchors to ensure the structure remains secure. Although the floor lamp has IP65 protection, avoid directing pressurised water jets directly at the joints or the interior of the luminaire.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp combines functionality and discretion. The dark grey body goes unnoticed during the day and integrates well in both private gardens and open spaces for collective use. The included COB LED light source emits at 3000 K, a warm colour temperature that softens the atmosphere and creates a pleasant feeling when walking outdoors at dusk.

The 3000 K lighting is perceived as closer to indoor light than to the cold light of many street luminaires. This means the surroundings do not feel harsh or artificial. In a domestic garden, that warm tone helps to define pathways without breaking the atmosphere of the space. In a courtyard or a larger landscaped area, the effect is the same: a continuous, balanced light that does not tire the eye.

The 360-degree distribution is one of the most practical features of this floor lamp. There is no need to think about orientation or adjustments after installation. The light is emitted uniformly in all directions, which simplifies lighting planning in circular areas or those with no defined orientation.

The aluminium body is lightweight relative to its volume, yet strong enough to withstand outdoor use for years. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser lets light through without altering it. It does not filter or colour the light; it simply protects the interior of the lamp while maintaining the original performance.

The IK10 protection is especially useful in high-traffic areas where accidental impacts may occur. Unlike a decorative lamp designed solely for private gardens, this luminaire is prepared for environments with greater footfall. In a community park, a frequently used entrance or a paved path, the level of robustness matters.

The slim profile of the pole, with only 160 mm in diameter, means the floor lamp takes up little visual space. It does not dominate the surroundings. It is the type of luminaire that fulfils its function without becoming the central element of the space. This makes it compatible with gardens featuring other decorative elements, more formal entrances or natural environments where minimal intervention is preferred.

The universal voltage of 100 V to 240 V allows installation without adaptations in different countries or electrical installations. The COB LED module is already included, so there is no need to purchase the light source separately.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that the floor lamp has IP65 and IK10 protection?

IP65 indicates that the luminaire is protected against dust and against water projected from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor use in rain. IK10 is the maximum level of resistance to mechanical impacts according to European standards, meaning the body can withstand strong blows without compromising its operation.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included with the floor lamp. No additional module needs to be purchased to start up the luminaire after installation.

Is the 360-degree distribution the only option available in this model?

This specific model features 360-degree distribution, which spreads the lighting symmetrically around the pole. If you need a more directional distribution, please consult other options within the FARO SCREEN collection.
