Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks, and open spaces where stable, long-lasting light is needed. Standing 3.1 meters tall, it provides broad and uniform lighting from ground level, without requiring complex installations on walls or ceilings.

The SCREEN collection is designed for environments that demand real durability. The body combines aluminum and polycarbonate, materials that hold up well against outdoor conditions over time. The IP65 protection ensures that rain and dust do not affect performance, and the IK10 impact rating adds an extra layer of security in public-use areas or high-traffic zones.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its products are aimed at both residential use and larger-scale projects, with a clear balance between functionality and durability.

Installation and specifications

This floor lamp is fixed to the ground, so installation requires preparing a suitable base that supports the weight of the pole and ensures it remains vertical. Before mounting, it is advisable to check that the ground is level and that there is access to the electrical network at the installation point. The wiring must run through the interior of the pole, protected and out of direct reach. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician or technician.

To keep the floor lamp in good condition, simply clean the body and diffuser with a damp cloth and mild detergent when necessary. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the aluminum finish or scratch the polycarbonate. Periodically check the joints and anchors to make sure everything remains secure, especially after periods of strong wind or heavy rain.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp is part of a technical outdoor lighting collection developed by FARO. The entire line shares the same materials and protection levels, making it easy to combine different pieces within the same space without losing visual or technical coherence.

The body of this lamp is made from aluminum, a material that resists continuous outdoor exposure without losing its shape or finish. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without filtering it excessively, resulting in clear, direct lighting toward the ground. The warm 2700K tone creates a pleasant atmosphere at nightfall, without the coldness that can sometimes feel unwelcoming in private gardens or rest areas.

At 3.1 meters tall, this floor lamp projects light from an elevated position, covering a reasonable surface area around the pole. It is a practical option for a residential garden, for the access areas of a housing development, or for pathways in public parks. The 180-degree asymmetric light distribution allows the beam to be directed toward a specific area, which is useful when you want to illuminate a side path, a façade, or one side of the garden without wasting light on areas that do not need it.

The dark grey finish gives this lamp a discreet appearance that fits well with different outdoor styles. It does not draw attention during the day, but performs its function perfectly when night falls. Those looking for something more ornamental may find that this technical design integrates well alongside contemporary garden elements, without visually competing with plants, walls, or paving.

The included COB LED light source operates at 38W and is compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V, making it suitable for installations in different countries without the need for adapters. The COB LED generates compact and uniform light, without spots of greater or lesser intensity within the beam.

Regarding durability, the IK10 rating is the highest level of protection against physical impacts. This makes it a suitable floor lamp not only for residential gardens, but also for more exposed areas, such as urban parks or frequently used access routes. The IP65 rating ensures that neither rain nor dust can compromise the internal functioning of the lamp.

This model works well alongside other luminaires in the SCREEN collection, both in continuous lighting projects along a pathway and in standalone installations where it is necessary to mark an access point or highlight a specific area of the garden.

Questions and answers

Does the SCREEN floor lamp include the light source, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 38W COB LED light source is included. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or make any changes before installing the floor lamp.

What does the 180-degree asymmetric lighting option mean?

It means that the light beam is projected toward one side rather than being distributed in a circular pattern. This allows the lighting to be directed toward a specific area, such as a path or a façade, without illuminating the opposite area.

Is IP65 protection sufficient for climates with frequent or heavy rainfall?

Yes. IP65 indicates full protection against dust and resistance to water jets from any direction. It is a suitable rating for outdoor use under typical weather conditions, including heavy rain.
