Overview

BLUB'S is an outdoor lamp post from the brand FARO, designed to illuminate entrances, garden paths, terraces and access areas. Its contemporary design fits well both in homes with a modern aesthetic and in more neutral spaces where a tidy, clean visual presence is sought. This version features two light points, which allows coverage of a larger area or a more balanced distribution of lighting.

The body is made of aluminium with a dark grey finish, a material that holds up well in outdoor conditions without adding unnecessary weight. The diffuser is made of opal PMMA, which distributes light evenly without creating shadow areas or annoying reflections. The lamp post is installed directly in the ground, without the need for additional structures, and its height of 2140 mm makes it visible from a distance without being excessive.

FARO is a company specialising in lighting with a proven track record in the sector. Its products are aimed at both residential use and larger-scale projects, with a constant focus on durable materials and functional solutions.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is necessary to plan an underground conduit to the point where the lamp post will be fixed. As this is an outdoor luminaire with ground fixing, the wiring must be protected and comply with local electrical regulations. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before starting, check that the power supply is cut off and that the ground in the anchoring area is level. The base must be secure to prevent vibrations or displacement over time.

For maintenance, clean the body surface with a slightly damp cloth and no abrasive products. The PMMA diffuser can lose transparency when exposed to aggressive chemical products, so avoid them. Periodically check the connections and the condition of the external wiring. If you detect any damage to the body or the diffuser, replace the affected parts before continuing to use the luminaire.

Design and use

The BLUB'S lamp post from FARO combines solid construction with a visual line that does not draw too much attention to itself. That is precisely what makes it versatile. It does not compete with its surroundings: it complements them. In a garden with dense vegetation, its vertical profile in dark grey integrates without creating a harsh contrast. In an entrance with stone or cement paving, it adds presence without feeling overdone.

The aluminium body holds up well to prolonged outdoor exposure. It does not rust like iron, does not deform with temperature changes and maintains its finish for years with minimal maintenance. Dark grey is a neutral tone that works equally well alongside white facades, brick walls or treated wood. This lamp post can also look good on a covered terrace or at a garage entrance where stable, long-lasting lighting is needed.

The opal PMMA diffuser is the element that defines how the light is perceived from outside. Unlike transparent diffusers, the opal filters the light point and converts it into a homogeneously illuminated surface. The result is a diffuse, glare-free light that makes the surroundings more pleasant at night. It is especially useful in areas where people spend time: terraces, patios, frequently used passageways.

This version has two heads, which extends the illumination radius. They can be oriented to cover two different directions or focused on the same area from different angles. It is a practical solution for long paths, entrances with multiple access points or any outdoor space where a single light point would not be sufficient.

The lamp base is anchored to the ground, making it a fixed element of the garden or exterior of the home. Its height of over two metres places it in view from a distance, like a reference lantern within the space. It does not require an external motion sensor or any additional accessories: it works as a conventional lamp post connected to the electrical grid.

The E27 LED bulb is not included, so you can choose the colour temperature that best suits your space. Warm light gives a cosier result; neutral light is more functional for transit or outdoor work areas. The universal voltage between 100 V and 240 V makes it compatible with the electrical installation of any home without the need for adapters.

Although it is not a rechargeable or portable lamp post, its fixed connection to the grid guarantees constant lighting without depending on batteries or charging cycles. For those looking for a stable long-term outdoor solution, that is precisely its strong point. The lamp post does not require frequent maintenance and its reduced weight makes transport and handling easier during installation.

Questions and answers

Does the BLUB'S lamp post need a special base or anchor to be installed in the ground?

The lamp post is fixed directly to the ground. It is necessary to prepare a level anchoring point and run the electrical wiring to that position via underground conduit. Anchoring accessories are not included, so it is advisable to consult with the installer about the available options depending on the type of surface.

Is the E27 LED light source included with the lamp post?

No, the bulb is not included. The lamp post is compatible with E27 LED cap bulbs of up to 15 W. You can choose the colour temperature you prefer depending on the intended use of the outdoor space.

Does the opal PMMA diffuser affect the amount of light emitted by the lamp post?

The opal diffuser distributes light evenly and eliminates direct glare, but slightly reduces the perceived intensity compared to a transparent diffuser. The result is softer, more homogeneous lighting, suitable for areas where visual comfort is sought rather than maximum luminous output.
