Overview

This in-ground recessed fixture from FARO is designed to be installed in gardens, terraces, patios, and facades where discreet but functional lighting is needed. It mounts flush with the floor, without protruding, and allows you to mark pathways, signal staircases, or define transit zones in a clean and orderly way.

The recessed housing is included, which considerably simplifies the installation process. The fixture integrates into the ground and takes up no visual space. The transparent glass distributes light upward without distortion, and the satin stainless steel finish remains neutral in any type of outdoor environment.

FARO is a Spanish company with years of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Their outdoor products are designed to withstand real-use conditions, not just to look good in a catalog.

Installation and specifications

To install this in-ground recessed fixture, it is necessary to prepare a recessed housing in the floor with the appropriate dimensions. The recessed housing is included, so there is no need to purchase it separately. Before pouring concrete or laying the final paving, it is advisable to run the wiring through to the housing. The electrical connection must be carried out by an authorized installer, especially for outdoor installations. Please note that the GU10 LED lamp is not included and must be purchased separately.

For maintenance, simply clean the glass and steel surface with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products that may scratch the satin finish. The 316L stainless steel resists moisture and ambient salt well, so no additional treatments are required under normal conditions of use.

Design and use

The FARO in-ground recessed spotlight combines 316L stainless steel with aluminium in its body and transparent glass in the diffuser. The result is a compact luminaire with a low profile that integrates into the floor without interrupting the visual line of the space. The satin finish of the steel does not reflect or shine excessively, giving it a sober and orderly appearance both day and night.

The transparent glass allows light to rise directly and cleanly from the ground. On a paved terrace, this effect creates a sense of depth in the outdoor lighting without the need for overhead fixtures. In a garden, it helps define pathways or zone edges without protruding elements that could be a nuisance when walking.

The IP67 rating ensures that the recessed fixture is protected against rain, ground moisture, and temporary immersion. This makes it suitable for areas where water can accumulate on the surface, as happens in patios after a heavy downpour or in gardens with automatic irrigation. There is no need to worry about covering the luminaire when the ground gets wet.

The IK08 resistance rating indicates that the body can withstand considerable impacts without deforming or cracking. Added to this is the capacity to support up to 2000 kg of rolling load, meaning a vehicle can drive over it without damaging the fixture. This makes it a suitable option not only for pedestrian pathways, but also for garage entrances, estate driveways, or shared transit areas for both people and vehicles.

This spotlight works with a GU10 LED bulb, giving freedom to choose the color temperature that best suits the environment. Warm light can give a more welcoming feel to a private terrace, while neutral or cool light is more appropriate for marking access points on facades or building entrances.

On an outdoor staircase, several recessed fixtures placed on the sides of the steps clearly mark the path without causing glare. On a facade, arranged at the base of the wall, they create a vertical wash effect that makes the building visible without the need for elevated fixtures or projectors. The visual result is clean and uncluttered.

Compatibility with voltages between 100 V and 240 V makes it suitable for installations in different countries without adapters. The lightweight assembly, less than one kilogram, makes it easy to handle during installation. By including the recessed housing, the process is simplified and there is no need to source separate components.
