Overview

The FARO GEISER 130 is an in-ground recessed luminaire designed to illuminate vertical surfaces outdoors. It is installed flush with the floor and projects light upward, creating visual effects on walls and facades. It is a common choice for house entrances, gardens, patios and terraces where the aim is to highlight the texture of a wall or define an architectural volume.

The spotlight features an integrated COB LED light source and operates at 3000K, a warm color temperature that creates a pleasant atmosphere without being harsh on the eyes. Its 316L stainless steel frame and aluminum body make it resistant to continuous outdoor exposure. The IP67 certification ensures that the recessed fitting can withstand both direct rain and the ingress of dust and solid particles, making it suitable for permanent outdoor installations.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in the lighting industry. Their outdoor products combine durable materials with careful finishes, designed to integrate into different types of residential environments.

Installation and specifications

To install this recessed fitting, it is necessary to make a box in the ground matching the product's dimensions. A recessed box is included, so it does not need to be purchased separately. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified installer, as the spotlight operates at 220V-240V and is located in an outdoor environment. Before starting, check that the area has no standing water or accumulated moisture at depth, although the IP67 rating protects against temporary immersion.

To keep the recessed fitting in good condition, clean the stainless steel frame with a damp cloth when dirt or residue accumulates. Avoid abrasive products that may damage the satin finish. Do not handle the luminaire while the installation is live.

Design and use

The GEISER 130 is designed for those who want to bring attention to a wall, a facade or a vertical element in the garden without resorting to protruding spotlights or complex installations. Being flush with the floor, the recessed fitting does not interrupt foot traffic or alter the visual continuity of the surface. The result is a light that seems to emerge from the pavement itself, producing a clean and contained effect.

The spotlight body combines 316L stainless steel in the outer frame with aluminum in the internal structure. 316L steel is particularly resistant to corrosion in humid and saline environments, making it suitable for both gardens in coastal areas and patios with frequent irrigation. Aluminum, in turn, keeps the unit light without compromising the solidity of the product.

The integrated COB LED light source operates at 7.5W and emits warm light at 3000K. This type of lighting enhances relief contrasts: the irregularities of a stone wall, the joints of a brick wall or the volumes of a textured facade are well defined when bathed in grazing light from the floor. It is a common resource in outdoor lighting projects that seek visual depth without saturating the space with too much light.

The IP67 rating means that the recessed fitting is fully protected against dust and can withstand immersion in water up to a certain depth for a limited time. For a spotlight installed in the floor of a garden, patio or terrace, this protection is an essential requirement. Heavy rain, irrigation, ground moisture and temperature changes do not affect the luminaire's performance.

The round format and 130 mm diameter make the recessed fitting discreet when not lit. During the day, only the satin stainless steel ring is visible, which integrates naturally with different types of paving: natural stone, porcelain, concrete or cobblestone. At night, the spotlight completely transforms the perception of the space, highlighting what goes unnoticed during the day.

It is a product that works well both in single installations, where a single point of light marks a specific element of the facade, and in compositions with several spotlights aligned along a wall. On an outdoor staircase, for example, several recessed fittings arranged on the side of the step or at the base of the wall guide the path and add character to the area. On a terrace, a pair of luminaires placed in front of a wall with vegetation or relief create a refined atmosphere without the need for large installations.

Questions and answers

Does the GEISER 130 include the recessed box or does it need to be purchased separately?

The recessed box is included with the product. It does not need to be purchased separately before installation.

What does the IP67 certification mean for this in-ground recessed fitting?

IP67 indicates that the spotlight is fully protected against dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water. For an outdoor floor-level installation, this comfortably covers exposure to rain, irrigation and ground moisture.

Is the 316L stainless steel frame suitable for areas with high humidity or near the sea?

Yes. 316L steel has greater corrosion resistance than standard stainless steel, making it particularly suitable for humid environments, coastal areas or gardens with frequent irrigation.
