Installation and specifications

For installation, it is necessary to create a conduit in the ground to run the electrical wiring to the connection point. The ground fixing must be done on a firm and level base to ensure the stability of the beacon. The LED module is not included in the package: it must be purchased separately before proceeding with assembly.

For maintenance, simply clean the cement housing with a damp cloth without abrasive products. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with water and a little neutral soap. Avoid the use of solvents or materials that could scratch the surface. Do not handle the lamp or the LED module while the circuit is connected.

Design and use

IGLÚ is a ground beacon that works discreetly. Its height of 110 mm keeps it almost at pavement level, without drawing attention during the day, yet performing its function well when night falls. The lamp does not seek to be the center of attention: its role is to guide, signal, and provide safety along pathways.

The body is made of cement, a material that provides weight and stability. At 2.4 kg, the beacon does not shift easily and holds up well against the conditions typical of outdoor use. The grey cement texture blends naturally with concrete, stone, or gravel surfaces, as well as with more modern surfaces such as rectified porcelain. It fits in with minimalist design environments as well as more natural-style gardens.

The translucent glass diffuser protects the LED module while softening the light before it reaches the ground. There are no bright spots or marked shadow areas: the lighting is distributed evenly within the projected area. This is especially useful on paths several meters long, where multiple beacons are installed in a line to achieve continuous lighting without light gaps.

The color temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, closer to incandescence than to daylight. This type of light is pleasant in nighttime outdoor settings because it is neither cold nor harsh. It also does not incorporate a motion sensor, meaning it operates continuously when connected, without interruptions or detection-triggered activations. This is an advantage on frequently used paths, where constant light is more practical than motion-activated light.

In terms of use in different environments, IGLÚ adapts well to both private gardens and communal areas. It can mark the entrance to a home, define a path between green areas, or signal the edges of a walkway. It also works well around a swimming pool, where the downward orientation of the light avoids dazzling those in the water or lying nearby. On a terrace used at night, several beacons placed in a line create a continuous ground-level lighting strip that defines the space without the need for suspended luminaires.

The IGLÚ beacon does not include a motion sensor and is not rechargeable, so it requires a fixed electrical installation. This makes it more suitable for permanent installations than for temporary solutions. If you are looking for outdoor lights that do not require wiring, this beacon is not the right option.
