Design and use

The GAIA beacon comes from Yembarastudio, a design studio that developed this lamp with a clear idea: to create an outdoor lighting piece that does not look like a technical object, but rather something that could have always been there. The round shape, without edges, facilitates that integration. It does not interrupt the landscape, but becomes part of it.

During the day, the beacon acts almost like a sculpture. The beige cement blends with the tones of the ground, gravel, or vegetation. The opaque side is exposed to sunlight while shadows are cast around it, creating a subtle visual play. It is not a lamp that seeks the spotlight when it is not switched on. On the contrary, it goes largely unnoticed.

At night, the situation changes. The 2700K LED light emits a warm tone, close to that of a candle or a filament lamp. That kind of lighting is pleasant in gardens and patios because it does not create a cold or clinical atmosphere. The brightness spreads from the interior gradually, more intense at the center and more diffuse toward the edges. The integrated visor controls where that light goes, preventing glare for both people passing nearby and those sitting on the terrace.

The cement body is not merely an aesthetic finish. It is the main material of the piece, what gives it the weight and solidity that is immediately apparent. At nearly 13 kg, the beacon does not move with the wind or from an accidental knock. That also means that once placed in its spot, it tends to stay there. Moving it occasionally requires care, but under normal conditions of use that will not be necessary.

The spherical format and the beacon's dimensions — 388 mm in height and 350 mm in diameter — make it suitable for spaces with a certain breadth. It works well in medium or large gardens, at house entrances, alongside stone paths, or at the edges of a lawn area. It can also be used around a swimming pool if space allows, though always with attention to the electrical wiring and safety distances from the water.

As a garden lantern, it fits well alongside other natural elements: hedges, cement planters, stone curbs. Its beige color and matte texture allow it to be combined with materials such as aged wood, ceramics, or exposed concrete. It clashes with almost nothing because it does not try to impose a style. The design is original without being disruptive.

As for the light source, the included SMD LED consumes 6W, which is sufficient to illuminate the immediate surroundings without consumption being an issue. The 2700K temperature guarantees that warm, enveloping light that turns a garden into a pleasant space after sunset.

Does the IP68 connector allow the beacon to be installed in areas exposed to rain or ground moisture?

Yes. The IP68 connector is designed to withstand continuous exposure to moisture, including rain and contact with the ground. It is suitable for outdoor installations without the need for additional protection at the connection point.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The beacon includes the 6W SMD LED light source. It does not need to be purchased separately. The LED operates at 2700K, emitting warm light from the very first moment.

Does the cement body require any special treatment before installing it in the garden?

No prior treatment is required. The beige cement finish is designed to withstand outdoor conditions. Occasional cleaning with a damp cloth is sufficient to keep it looking in good condition.

If upon receiving the lamp you detect any manufacturing defect, you have 30 days to report it.
