Installation and specifications

For installation, bear in mind that this lamp is fixed directly to the ground. As it is an outdoor luminaire with a 220V-240V mains connection, it is advisable to have the wiring carried out by an electrician. Before placing it, verify that the installation point has access to the electrical outlet and that the surface where it will rest is firm and level. The high weight of the cement body aids stability, but an uneven surface may affect the verticality of the beacon.

For maintenance, clean the cement body with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. The opal PC diffuser can be gently wiped with water and mild soap to remove accumulated dust or dirt. Do not use solvents or aggressive chemical products on either surface. Although the IP65 protection guards against rain, avoid directing pressurised water jets directly onto the joints or electrical connection points.

Design and use

The CAST beacon by FARO has a calm and solid presence. The grey cement does not draw excessive attention, but it does not go unnoticed either. It is a lamp that fits well in gardens with natural finishes — stone, gravel, wood — and also on terraces with a more contemporary approach. The texture of the cement ages uniformly, which means that over time it integrates even further into the surroundings.

The polycarbonate opal diffuser distributes light evenly around the beacon. There is no bright point or concentrated beam. The resulting illumination is soft and continuous, making it an ideal lamp for decorative lighting along garden paths or terrace edges. At 3000K, the colour temperature falls in the warm range, similar to a cosy interior light, which softens the appearance of the outdoor space as night falls.

At 505 mm in height, the beacon is not a discreet ground-level luminaire, but it is not imposing either. It is a size that allows the lantern to be seen from a distance without blocking the view or interrupting the landscape. At that height, the lights naturally illuminate the pavement and surrounding vegetation, with no need to orient or adjust anything.

The integrated SMD LED technology consumes 10W, making it an efficient lamp for continuous outdoor use. It does not require a bulb change because the light source is included and forms part of the unit. This simplifies maintenance and eliminates the concern of finding compatible replacement parts.

The IP65 protection level is one of the most relevant aspects of this beacon. It means that the interior of the lamp is completely protected against dust and resistant to water jets from any direction. In climates with frequent rainfall or in areas with a risk of splashing, such as pool edges or fountains, this protection ensures uninterrupted operation throughout the year.

Can the cement body deteriorate with continuous rain or humidity?

Cement is a material that tolerates outdoor exposure well. In addition, the beacon has IP65 protection, which means the unit is designed to operate in rainy and humid conditions without water penetrating the interior. With basic maintenance, the body retains its appearance for years.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included as standard. No additional components need to be purchased for lighting. The lamp arrives ready to plug in and use.

Does this beacon need to be anchored to the ground or can it be placed directly without fixing?

The beacon rests directly on the ground with no need for anchoring. Its weight of almost fourteen kilograms keeps it stable under normal conditions. That said, it is advisable to place it on a flat and firm surface so that it stands perfectly vertical.
