Overview

The BROT beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to be installed directly in the ground. Its height of 900 mm makes it a piece that is clearly perceived in the space without being intrusive. It is a lamp designed for gardens, entrances, access paths, patios and common areas where low-level, continuous lighting is needed.

The design comes from Yembara Studio and follows a minimalist line: no unnecessary decorative elements, no overloaded shapes. The BROT collection has something original in its way of combining simplicity with presence. The 2700K color temperature provides a warm light that does not strain the eyes, ideal for spaces where a calm atmosphere is desired as night falls.

FARO is a company with a long track record in lighting. Their outdoor products are designed to last and perform well in real conditions, not just in catalog photos.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this beacon in the ground, it is advisable to prepare the base carefully. It is recommended to fix the foot on a flat, stable surface, using the appropriate anchors for the type of terrain. If the ground is soft or earthy, it may be necessary to use a concrete base or an anchor plate. The electrical connection must be made by a qualified electrician, as this is an outdoor luminaire with fixed wiring. Make sure the installation complies with local electrical regulations.

For maintenance, clean the aluminum surface with a damp cloth and a neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the black finish. The opal glass diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Do not use pressurized water directly on the lamp. Periodically check the connections to make sure everything is in good condition.

Design and use

The BROT lamp has an aluminum body finished in black that gives it visual solidity without adding unnecessary weight to the surroundings. Aluminum is a material that withstands outdoor conditions well: it does not rust easily, endures temperature changes and maintains its appearance over time. In a garden beacon, this matters because it is continuously exposed to sun, rain and humidity.

The diffuser is made of opal glass, which means the light is distributed softly, without bright spots or hard shadows. This outdoor beacon does not glare when you walk nearby, something that is especially appreciated on paths or walkways. The warm 2700K light creates an atmosphere that invites you to stay outdoors, whether on a terrace, in the garden or at the entrance of a house.

The SMD LED technology included in this lamp consumes little energy and has a long service life. There is no need to purchase additional bulbs because the light source is already included. The compatible voltage ranges from 100V to 240V, so it works without adapters in any standard installation.

At 900 mm in height, this garden beacon has presence without visually competing with the surroundings. It is a measurement that works well alongside low shrubs, path borders or low walls. Placed in a row along a path, it guides the route naturally. On a terrace, it can be used as a perimeter light point that defines the space without the need for taller posts.

The square design of the base, measuring 160 x 160 mm, provides stability and makes alignment easier when several units are installed in a row. It is a lamp that does not draw excessive attention during the day, but when switched on it visually transforms any outdoor corner. The modern lantern has that ability to go unnoticed during daylight hours and become the focal point when it gets dark.

This lamp can integrate well with materials such as wood, natural stone or concrete. In gardens with dense vegetation, the black body blends in with the surroundings. In more open spaces or with a contemporary design, the lantern provides a clean and orderly focal point. It also works well at garage entrances or building entrances where continuous and discreet lighting is needed.

Questions and answers

Does the BROT lamp include the LED light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is already included with the lamp. No additional components need to be purchased to put it into operation.

Can this floor beacon be installed on any type of outdoor terrain?

It is designed to be fixed to the ground, but the type of base determines the anchoring method. On soft surfaces, a concrete base is recommended to ensure stability. On hard pavements, the anchors corresponding to the material are used.

Does the black aluminum body maintain its finish with continued outdoor use?

Aluminum is a material that withstands prolonged exposure to the elements well. The black finish can maintain its appearance with regular cleaning using a damp cloth and neutral detergent, avoiding abrasive products.
