Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This beacon is fixed to the ground, so it is advisable to plan the cable routing before installing it. As it is an outdoor lamp, the wiring must be protected and the connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Check that the installation point has access to the electrical network and that the available voltage is compatible with the indicated range (100V–240V). No special tools are required for fixing, but it is recommended to check the condition of the ground before proceeding.

Use and maintenance. To clean the surface of the lamp, use a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish of the body or the diffuser. Although the beacon has IP65 protection, do not submerge it in water or direct it with a high-pressure hose. Periodically check that the fixing points remain secure, especially after periods of rain or frost.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection by FARO brings together a series of outdoor luminaires with a clean and functional design. This particular beacon has a height of 800 mm and a square cross-section of 160 mm, giving it a discreet yet visible presence. The dark grey finish integrates well with stone, concrete, or gravel paving, and does not draw excessive attention during the day. When night falls, the lamp does its job without disrupting the aesthetics of the space.

The aluminum body provides rigidity without adding excessive weight. The polycarbonate, both in the body and in the transparent diffuser, withstands temperature changes and prolonged sun exposure well. This combination is common in outdoor lights for intensive use, and it makes sense: aluminum does not oxidize with moisture and PC does not become brittle in the cold. The result is a lamp that can remain in the garden for years without needing to be stored away in winter.

The included COB LED light source operates at 3000K, a temperature that produces warm light, close to that of tungsten. This tone is particularly suitable for gardens because it softens contours, does not distort the color of plants, and creates an atmosphere that invites you to stay outdoors. Unlike cool lights, it does not produce that clinical feeling sometimes associated with LED lighting. At 20W of power, it is sufficient to mark a path or clearly define a transit area.

The 360º option of this beacon distributes light symmetrically in all directions. This makes it useful when placed in open areas where uniform coverage is needed around the installation point, such as in the center of a garden or next to an entrance. The wide variant, on the other hand, projects light with greater lateral reach, which is practical for illuminating longer stretches with fewer units.

As a ground-level post light, this beacon can be integrated into mixed installations alongside other outdoor lighting elements, such as wall lights or recessed floor lights. In gardens with tall vegetation, it works well as a visual guide without competing with other light sources. In more open areas, such as terraces or patios, it can act as the main low-level lighting element.

The IK10 rating allows it to withstand accidental impacts, something that has more value than it might seem in high-traffic areas or gardens with children. It is not common to find this level of resistance in domestic-use lamps, and in this case it is present without increasing the overall cost of the product.

Does the SCREEN beacon include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 20W COB LED light source. No additional components are required for operation.

What does IP65 certification mean and under what conditions can I install it?

IP65 indicates that the beacon is protected against dust and against water projected from any direction. It can be installed outdoors without additional protection, exposed to rain and ambient humidity without affecting its performance.

Are the 360º option and the wide variant configurations of the same model or different products?

They are variants within the SCREEN collection. The 360º option offers a symmetrical distribution of light in all directions, while the wide variant increases the projection angle to cover a greater distance. Each one responds to different needs depending on the space where it is installed.
