Overview

The ESPOT 600 beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to be installed directly in the ground. Its height of 600 mm allows it to stand out without taking up too much space, and its 360-degree illumination covers the surroundings uniformly in all directions. It is an option designed for those looking for a practical and durable solution to illuminate paths, access ways, gardens or outdoor common areas.

The dark grey aluminium body withstands outdoor conditions well, and the IP65 protection ensures that neither dust nor rain affects its operation. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without distorting it, maintaining a clean and tidy appearance in any space.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in lighting. Its products combine functionality and aesthetic criteria, and are present in both residential projects and collective-use spaces.

Installation and specifications

For installation, this lamp is fixed to the ground. Before placing it, check that the surface is firm and level. The wiring must be protected and buried in accordance with outdoor electrical installation regulations. It is recommended that the connection be made by a qualified electrician, as this is an outdoor luminaire connected to the 220V-240V mains.

To clean the aluminium body, use a damp cloth with water and, if necessary, a neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The polycarbonate diffuser is cleaned in the same way. Although the IP65 protection makes this beacon resistant to water and dust, do not submerge it in water or expose it to direct pressurised jets.

Design and use

The ESPOT 600 is a beacon designed to remain outdoors throughout the year. The aluminium used to make the body is a material that withstands temperature changes, humidity and prolonged exposure to the sun well. It does not oxidise easily and maintains a stable appearance over time. The dark grey colour gives it a neutral look that adapts well to different types of surroundings, from gardens with vegetation to paved access ways or patios with more industrial finishes.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser serves a specific purpose: to distribute light evenly across 360 degrees without creating harsh shadows or points of excessive concentration. This is especially useful on roads and paths, where illumination needs to reach both sides of the lamp in a balanced way. The lantern integrates well visually whether installed alone or placed in series along a path.

The included SMD LED light source offers four available colour temperatures: 2200K, 2700K, 3200K and 4000K. This allows you to choose the tone that best suits the use. Lower temperatures, such as 2200K or 2700K, produce a warmer light, similar to that of a traditional lantern, suitable for creating a calm atmosphere in the garden or on a terrace. Higher temperatures, such as 3200K or 4000K, produce a cooler light, useful when visibility is the priority, for example at access ways or transit areas.

With 9W of power, this beacon consumes little relative to the light it generates. The integrated LED does not require frequent replacement and has a considerably longer lifespan than conventional lamps.

The ESPOT 600 beacon works well in environments where lighting needs to be functional without being intrusive. In a garden, it marks the route without dazzling. At a house entrance, it provides presence and orientation without the need to install larger lights. It can also be used alongside outdoor water areas, such as the edges of a swimming pool, thanks to its IP65 certification that protects against water projection from any direction.

From an aesthetic point of view, the design of this lamp is sober and functional. It is not intended to be the central element of outdoor decoration, but to complement the space in an orderly way. The proportion between its height of 600 mm and its base of 160 x 160 mm makes it stable without requiring a very wide base, which makes it easier to place even in spaces with little lateral clearance.

Questions and answers

Does the ESPOT 600 beacon include the LED light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the SMD LED light source. It does not need to be purchased separately. It comes ready to connect once the electrical installation is complete.

What colour temperature does this outdoor lamp have?

The ESPOT 600 beacon is available with four colour temperatures: 2200K, 2700K, 3200K and 4000K. Each temperature corresponds to a different shade of light, from warm white to neutral white. It is advisable to choose the temperature before purchasing, as it cannot be adjusted once installed.

Is IP65 protection sufficient for installation in an area exposed to direct rain?
