Overview

The AGRA 650 beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to mark and visually accompany paths, entrances, and green areas. It is installed directly in the ground and emits light through its four faces, creating a homogeneous effect around the illumination point. It is an option designed for those who want to visually organize a garden without resorting to overly eye-catching solutions.

The brown finish integrates well in natural environments: among plants, alongside stone paths, or in areas with vegetation. The 2700K color temperature produces a warm light that does not distort the colors of the surroundings and is pleasant to the eye during nighttime hours.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine durable materials with a functional design aimed at residential use and larger-scale projects.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This beacon is fixed in the ground, so it is necessary to plan the cable routing before placing it. It is recommended to have an electrician handle the connection, as this is an outdoor lamp that requires a safe installation protected against humidity. Check that the installation point is level so that the piece remains stable and straight. The beacon accepts voltages between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid.

Use and maintenance. Clean the aluminum surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The glass diffuser may accumulate dust or water residue; clean it with a dry cloth or water without additives. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected. Periodically check the condition of the exterior wiring to ensure there is no deterioration from exposure to weather conditions.

Design and use

The AGRA 650 is an aluminum beacon with a transparent glass diffuser that emits light in four directions. This means it does not illuminate only forward or upward, but distributes light around it in a balanced way. The result is that the lantern itself becomes a visible and present element in the space, not just a functional light source.

At 650 mm in height, this lamp has a discreet but sufficient presence to mark a path or define an area. It is not a low beacon that goes unnoticed, nor a large-format luminaire that dominates the landscape. It occupies a middle ground that makes it versatile for different types of gardens, from small, orderly spaces to larger areas with several distributed lighting points.

The brown aluminum body withstands outdoor conditions well. Aluminum does not oxidize like other metals and maintains its appearance over time without the need for additional treatments. The brown tone blends naturally with the surroundings, especially in gardens with bare soil, wood, stone, or dense vegetation.

The included COB LED light source operates at 9W with a temperature of 2700K. This temperature produces a warm tone, similar to a candle or soft incandescent light. In nighttime outdoor settings, this type of light creates a calm atmosphere without generating harsh contrasts. It is a light that accompanies rather than dominates.

The transparent glass diffuser allows the light source to be seen directly, which contributes to the decorative effect of the lantern. When the beacon is on, all four faces emit light visible from different angles, making it a visual reference point within the garden. This is especially useful on access paths or in areas where you want to guide movement without resorting to artificial signage.

This beacon can be combined with other luminaires in the environment: wall sconces at the entrance, recessed floor lights, or even a suspended lamp in a covered terrace area. Consistency of color and temperature between the different pieces helps the overall visual appearance of the exterior to be uniform and well integrated.

For those organizing a patio or renovating the access to their home, the AGRA 650 offers a solution that does not require major construction work. It is enough to plan the underground cabling and fix the beacon at the chosen point. From there, the lamp performs its function continuously and without frequent maintenance.

Questions and answers

Does the AGRA 650 beacon include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 9W COB LED light source. No additional components need to be purchased to put it into operation once the electrical installation has been completed.

Does the transparent glass diffuser affect the durability of the beacon when used outdoors?

The transparent glass is designed for outdoor use within the AGRA collection. To keep it in good condition, simply clean it periodically with a dry or damp cloth without abrasive products.

Is the 2700K color temperature suitable for illuminating garden paths?

Yes. The 2700K produces a warm light that is sufficient to mark routes and define the layout of a path without generating excessive lighting. It is a common temperature in outdoor areas where a pleasant atmosphere is desired at night.
