Overview

The RUSH floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks, and open spaces where stable, long-lasting light is needed. With a height of 3.1 meters and a body made of aluminum and polycarbonate, it is built to withstand outdoor conditions without compromising its appearance. The transparent diffuser allows light to pass through cleanly, and the 360º option ensures symmetric distribution around the pole.

This floor lamp does not require additional lighting to cover a wide area: the wide variant disperses light over a greater distance, which is useful in large areas or long pathways. The DALI version allows it to be integrated into lighting control systems, simplifying management when multiple units are installed.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine technical criteria with a restrained aesthetic, without drawing too much attention. The RUSH collection reflects that approach: functional, durable, and discreet.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this floor lamp in the garden or any outdoor space, the anchoring point in the ground should be properly prepared. The wiring must be protected underground using corrugated tubing or a conduit suitable for outdoor use. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a professional, especially if it is to be integrated into a DALI control system. Verify that the installation voltage is compatible with the 220V–240V range before connecting.

To keep the body in good condition, simply clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Periodically check that the ground fixing point remains secure, especially after periods of heavy rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The RUSH collection by FARO was created to meet the needs of outdoor spaces that require a technical floor lamp, without excessive decorative concessions but with a visually tidy result. The body combines aluminum and polycarbonate, two materials that complement each other well: aluminum provides structure and mechanical resistance, while polycarbonate allows light to emerge clearly without distortion.

The dark grey finish allows this floor lamp to blend well into environments such as private gardens, home entrances, park pathways, or communal areas of residential communities. It does not stand out conspicuously during the day, and at night it fulfills its function without creating harsh contrasts. The included COB LED light source emits at 2700K, a warm temperature that gives the space a welcoming feel without being too intense.

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions, which is useful when the floor lamp is placed at a central point, such as the middle of a pathway or the center of a small square. The wide variant, on the other hand, extends the projection angle to cover greater horizontal distance, ideal for illuminating long pathways or transit areas where it is desirable for the lighting to reach far without the need to install additional light points.

The DALI version of this floor lamp allows it to be connected to smart lighting management systems. This means that the intensity can be adjusted remotely or on/off schedules can be programmed without the need to physically intervene at each luminaire. For an installation with multiple floor lamps along a pathway or garden perimeter, this feature greatly simplifies daily management.

At 3.1 meters in height, this floor lamp provides an elevated light point that avoids the long shadows generated by low luminaires. The result is a more uniform distribution over the ground, without areas of very bright light next to others that are nearly dark. This height also makes it suitable for open spaces where trees or shrubs do not interfere with the light beam.

In terms of blending with the surroundings, the slim 160 mm profile and dark grey color pair well with stone, treated wood, or polished concrete surfaces. It does not clash with contemporary styles or more classic garden designs. Its discretion is part of its usefulness.

Questions and answers

Does this floor lamp require a special base to anchor it to the ground?

The fixing is to the ground, so it requires a concrete base or footing to anchor the pole foot. The assembly instructions included with the product indicate the dimensions and recommended type of anchor.

Does the transparent polycarbonate diffuser scratch easily with outdoor use?

The polycarbonate used in this floor lamp has an impact resistance rating of IK10, making it suitable for outdoor use. Even so, it is recommended not to clean it with abrasive materials in order to preserve its transparency over the long term.

Is the DALI version compatible with any lighting control system?

The DALI protocol is a widely used standard in lighting control systems. In general, it is compatible with most controllers and control units that work with this protocol, although it is advisable to verify compatibility with the specific system before installation.
