Overview

The RUSH floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where durability matters as much as the visual result. With a height of 3.1 metres, this floor lamp is installed directly in the ground and covers large areas with a clean and uniform light distribution. The asymmetric 180-degree lighting option allows the illumination to be directed in a specific direction, which is useful when you want to light a path or a particular area without dispersing the light where it is not needed.

The aluminium body and transparent polycarbonate diffuser offer resistance to continuous outdoor use. The IK10 rating indicates that the floor lamp withstands mechanical impacts, and the IP65 degree guarantees protection against rain and solid particles. This means it can remain installed all year round without needing to be dismantled with each change of season.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Their outdoor products are designed for real installations, not just for catalogue photographs.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is recommended to prepare a concrete base or a suitable ground anchor for a luminaire 3.1 metres in height. The electrical connection must be carried out by a certified electrician, as this is a fixed outdoor installation. Before starting, check that the electrical supply point is properly protected for outdoor use in accordance with current regulations.

For maintenance, clean the aluminium body with a damp cloth and, if necessary, with a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products that may damage the dark grey finish. The polycarbonate diffuser may accumulate dust over time; simply wipe it with a slightly damp cloth to restore its transparency. Do not use solvents or alcohol on any of the surfaces.

Design and use

The RUSH collection was born as a response to the need for technical outdoor lighting that is both resistant and unobtrusive. This garden floor lamp does not seek to draw attention to itself, but rather to blend into the surroundings and fulfil its function for years. The dark grey aluminium finish adapts well both to contemporary design gardens and to more natural environments with abundant vegetation.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser lets light through without filtering or blurring it excessively. This means that the 38 W COB LED lamp projects the illumination clearly, without creating halos or points of visual saturation. The 2700K temperature produces a warm light, similar to that of a traditional lamp, which is especially pleasant in private gardens where the night-time atmosphere matters.

The 180-degree asymmetric distribution option is a feature that distinguishes this model within the collection. Instead of projecting the illumination in all directions, it concentrates the light to one side. This has clear practical applications: illuminating an access path without disturbing the adjacent rest area, marking the perimeter of a garden, or highlighting a walkway in a park without visually polluting the rest of the space.

At 3.1 metres in height, this floor lamp covers a generous area from an elevated position. In installations where walkways need to be illuminated, such as paths between green areas or entrances to private properties, this height ensures that the light reaches where it is needed without the necessity of placing multiple low-level lighting points. It is also a common solution in lighting projects for squares or communal spaces.

The IP65 rating is not a minor detail in a permanent outdoor installation. It means that neither direct rain nor accumulated dust affect the internal functioning of the floor lamp. The IK10 level adds resistance to physical impacts, which is relevant in public or semi-public spaces where the risk of accidental knocks is greater. These two factors combined reduce the need for maintenance and extend the service life of the installation.

The LED lamp is already included, which simplifies the start-up process. Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 240V allows it to be used without adapters in standard European installations. Once connected, the 38 W consumption allows the outdoor area to remain illuminated without a notable impact on the electricity bill.

This floor lamp can also be combined with other luminaires from the same RUSH collection to create a coherent lighting system along a path or at various points in a garden or patio. By maintaining the same dark grey finish and the same diffuser style, the overall visual result is uniform without the need for additional adjustments.

Questions and answers

What does the 180-degree asymmetric distribution mean on this floor lamp?

It means that the light is not projected in all directions, but rather towards half of the space. It is useful for illuminating a path or a facade without dispersing the light towards areas where it is not needed.

Is the IP65 rating sufficient for a permanent outdoor installation?

Yes. IP65 indicates total protection against dust and resistance to direct water jets, which perfectly covers normal rainfall conditions. The floor lamp can remain installed throughout the year without any problems.

Does the 2700K LED lamp produce cool or warm light?

It produces warm light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb. It is a colour temperature suitable for gardens and outdoor spaces where a pleasant atmosphere is sought at night.
