Overview

The WINDSOR wall light by Faro Barcelona is a wall lamp designed to provide ambient lighting in domestic spaces where visual comfort matters. Its large linen shade filters light gently, without creating annoying glare or harsh contrasts. The result is diffuse, uniform lighting, suitable for the bedroom, living room, dining room or hallway.

This wall light combines a matte black steel structure with an off-white shade. The combination is discreet but characterful: the dark body contrasts with the light shade, creating a clean focal point on the wall without overwhelming the space. The linen shade adds a natural texture that fits well in modern interiors or those with Nordic touches.

Faro Barcelona has been designing luminaires for domestic and professional use for decades. Their products stand out for combining functionality with attention to detail in materials and finishes.

Installation and specifications

Installing this wall light requires a power outlet or wiring in the chosen area. As this is a wall-mounted lamp, it is recommended to mark the anchor points precisely before drilling. It is advised that installation be carried out by an electrician or someone with basic electrical knowledge, especially when working with recessed wiring. Before making any connections, make sure to cut the power supply at the distribution panel. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately, respecting the 15 W limit indicated by the manufacturer.

To clean the matte black steel body, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The linen shade can be cleaned with a dry cloth or a soft brush to remove accumulated dust. Do not wet the fabric directly or expose it to intense humidity continuously. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning.

Design and use

The WINDSOR wall light is part of a collection of luminaires with large shades designed by Faro Barcelona. Within the collection, this version is a wall light with a matte black reader and linen shade, aimed at generating ambient lighting. This is not a lamp designed to intensely illuminate a work area, but rather to create warm, enveloping light that accompanies the space.

The body is made of steel with a matte black finish. This type of finish does not reflect light and maintains a uniform appearance over time. The shade is made of linen in an off-white tone, a textile material that filters light naturally. When the bulb is on, the shade glows with a warm tone that spreads softly throughout the room. The effect is similar to that of a table lamp, but anchored to the wall and without taking up surface space.

In the bedroom, this wall light works well on either side of the bed, as an individual light point for gentle reading or as nighttime ambiance. Its generous size makes it visible as a decorative element even when switched off. In the living room, it can be placed on a wall that needs more presence or next to a reading armchair. The scale of the shade is designed for spacious rooms, where a small lamp would go unnoticed.

In the dining room, a wall light of this type provides a complementary layer of light to the central lamp, reducing shadows on the sides of the room. In hallways with good ceiling height, it can be installed as the main light source or as a visual guide along the route. In the bathroom, if the space allows and the installation complies with safety regulations for wet areas, it can provide more flattering lateral lighting than ceiling-mounted options.

The style of this lamp is modern without being minimalist. The contrast between the black body and the off-white fabric works in neutral interiors, but also in spaces with more colour. It pairs well with light wood furniture, textiles in natural tones and other metal elements in black or graphite. It would not look out of place in a Nordic-inspired setting or in a more eclectic one with a mix of materials.

Compatibility with voltage between 100 V and 240 V means it can be used in different countries without adapters. The E27 socket is one of the most common on the market, making it easy to find the right bulb. It is recommended to use a warm-toned LED bulb to make the most of the visual effect of the linen shade.

Questions and answers

Does the linen shade affect the amount of light the wall light emits?

Yes, linen is a textile material that filters part of the light. The result is diffuse, soft lighting, suitable for ambiance but not for tasks requiring high light intensity.

Does the wall light include the bracket or anchor for fixing to the wall?

The wall light is designed for wall mounting. The anchoring elements attached to the lamp body are part of the product, but the wall plugs and screws must be selected according to the type of surface where it is installed.

Is it possible to use a bulb of more than 15 W in this wall light?

It is not recommended to exceed the 15 W indicated by the manufacturer. Using a higher-wattage bulb can generate excessive heat and damage both the linen shade and the lamp as a whole.
