Overview

The WINDSOR wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed to create a soft and uniform atmosphere in any corner of the home. Its large shades distribute light broadly without concentrating it at a single point, making it a solid option for those seeking ambient lighting rather than direct lighting.

This grey wall light fits well in spaces where enveloping light is desired: a bedroom where the harshness of a spotlight is uncomfortable, a living room where a calm atmosphere is preferred, or a hallway where the wall needs something more than a simple bulb. The fabric shade diffuses the light before it exits, and this is noticeable in the final result.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in luminaire design. Its products are made with quality materials and are designed for both everyday use and long-term durability.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, you will need a recessed junction box or an electrical connection point already prepared in the wall. It is fixed directly to the wall using the included anchors. It is recommended to verify that the surface is solid before proceeding with installation. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to seek the help of an electrician.

The fabric shade requires gentle maintenance. To clean it, simply wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth without abrasive products. The steel body with matte black finish can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Avoid direct contact with water on the electrical components. Do not exceed the maximum wattage indicated when choosing the bulb.

Design and use

The WINDSOR wall light stands out for its large-format shades, which are the central element of its design. They are made from grey fabric, a material that filters light evenly and creates a warm, restful atmosphere. This characteristic sets it apart from other wall lamps with rigid diffusers, as the textile adds a visual texture that enriches the overall look without appearing cluttered.

The body is constructed in steel with a matte black finish. This combination of matte black in the structure and grey in the shades creates a subtle contrast that integrates well in contemporary interiors. The matte black does not reflect light, which helps draw attention to the shade and the halo it projects on the wall.

In the bedroom, this wall light works particularly well mounted at mid-height, where the light bounces off the wall and fills the space without glare. It is an alternative to bedside table lamps when there is not enough surface space, or when you prefer to keep that area clear. The lamp provides that relaxed ambient feeling that many people seek in a rest room.

In the living room, the wall light can be paired on either side of a sofa or fireplace to create symmetry and reinforce ambient lighting alongside other light sources. It is not intended to be the only lamp in a large living room, but as a complement it is very effective.

In the kitchen or dining room, it can be installed on a side wall to add a layer of soft light that balances the functional ceiling lighting. In the dining room in particular, this type of enveloping light helps the space feel more welcoming during meals.

Bathrooms are also a compatible environment for this wall light, provided the installation is carried out outside splash zones and applicable electrical regulations are observed. In hallways, one or more units can mark the route with a continuous and discreet light.

The lamp uses an E27 LED socket, the most common on the market. This makes it easy to find the right bulb in any store and allows you to adjust the light tone, warm or neutral, depending on the atmosphere you want to achieve in each room. The bulb is not included, so it is worth keeping this in mind when placing your order.

The universal voltage range of 100V to 240V makes this wall light compatible with the standard electrical grid without the need for adapters.

In terms of style, the WINDSOR fits in modern interiors as well as more eclectic settings where pieces from different eras coexist. The textile diffuser connects with that type of décor in which natural materials and understated finishes are mixed. It is not a strictly industrial lamp, nor a delicate one, but something in between that does not impose its presence yet is noticeable when lit.

Questions and answers

Does the WINDSOR wall light include the E27 LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. The wall light uses an E27 LED socket with a maximum power of 15 W. You can choose your preferred light tone when purchasing it separately.

Is the grey fabric diffuser resistant to daily use or does it deteriorate over time?

The diffuser is made from textile, a material that maintains its shape and colour with normal use. To keep it in good condition, simply wipe it with a dry cloth from time to time and avoid direct moisture.

Is this wall light compatible with the standard voltage in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries?

Yes. The voltage range is 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the electrical grid in Spain, Mexico, Argentina and most countries in the region without the need for any adapter.
